Remember those exciting headlines that never fail to seduce us?

-"3 things all Billionaires do first thing in the morning".
-5 ways to find love of your Life.
-9 ways to find out if you are smart. You won't believe the number. 3".

All of them have a common theme.
They make us believe that there is a path to life.

That there is something, a method, a process we are unaware of.
And once we are made aware of it, we will accomplish everything we have wanted to.

You know what?

It isn't true.
There are no prescriptions in life.
There is no one way to live it.
Each one of us builds our own path, our own way, our own journey.

Lacoste removed their logo for the first time in 89 years.
And sold out in hours.
Here's the genius behind it and why most brands can't copy it.

What they did:
Lacoste replaced their iconic crocodile with 10 endangered species.
Each shirt was limited to the number of animals left in the wild.

30 shirts = 30 Vaquita porpoises left
350 shirts = 350 Sumatran tigers left
450 shirts = 450 Anegada rock iguanas left.

The campaign sold out immediately.
Brand lift was massive.
Better than any product launch they'd done before.

Why it worked:
We're wired to worry when something's running out.
Most brands fake it with "Only 3 left!" or "Sale ends tonight!".

Lacoste flipped scarcity into purpose.
The 30 shirts weren't just limited edition. They represented 30 real animals fighting for survival.

People didn't just buy a shirt. They supported a cause. That's the difference.

But here's what most brands miss:
Lacoste could only pull this off because they already had the brand equity.
89 years of trust.
Global recognition.
Cultural relevance.

If you're a smaller brand trying this? It won't land the same way.

So before you launch a purpose-driven campaign, ask:
Can we pull this off at our current level of brand equity?
If not, don't force it.

Here's the sequence if you ARE ready:
✅ Find a cause aligned with your brand truth (not what's trending)
✅ Build the constraint into the product (make the limitation tell the story)
✅ Create a mechanism where the purchase IS the message
✅ Measure brand perception over years, not campaign metrics over weeks

If you're NOT there yet?

Start smaller. Local partnerships. Transparent sourcing. Donation matching.
Build credibility first. Then build the campaign.

The lesson:
Purpose-driven work only works when people already believe in your brand.

1 new thing I learnt this week:

Marriage predicts happiness better than education, work, or money.

If you have a happy marriage, your odds of being happy increase by 545%, as against a college degree (64%), higher income (88%), or work satisfaction (145%).

Rats! it's Friday again...

From a 43 to a 24-year-old!
Someone on a family gathering during this asked me:

"You are 41+, what is your piece of advice to men between 18 to 30 years.
It can be about anything!"

Here is my response:

1. In our 20s, we are mostly driven by looks.
We look for attractive men and women as our potential partners.
It is only life that teaches you that the mind is far more important than the face.
Fall in love with a mind that you can spend the rest of your life with.
Not just the face!

2. Use money to buy your freedom. Not to buy things that make you a forever slave:
We tend to play status games in our 20s - buying expensive clothes, phones, cars, shoes - to show that we have arrived.
Ironically, these purchases make us even more of a slave - to our jobs, to our income, to our ego!
As much as you spend money to enjoy life, also invest that money to escape the rat race.

Invest so that your job isn't your only source or the dominant source of income.
