Considering buying insurance, but unsure about where to start?

No problem – that’s why we are here to help :)

Before you commit to any pesky premiums, you’ll want to assess your options and pick the best policy for you and your budget.

So here are two tips to make the process easier:

First, consider your worst case scenario. This is the annual premiums plus the out-of-pocket maximum for each plan option. You can compare the totals of each plan and see how they stack up.

Second, keep an eye on the deductible — cheaper isn’t always better! You may be better off with a slightly higher premium with lower out-of-pocket costs.

We know it’s a lot to think about — so if you need a hand making the decision, just send us a message and we’ll be happy to help you out :)

It’s no secret that insurance policies are hard to follow.

But learning insurance terminology is key to picking the right policy — so allow us to clear up a few key terms:

-Insurer: This is the company or individual who promises to reimburse you.
-Insured: This is the individual who receives the payment — except in the case of life insurance, where the payout goes to a named beneficiary.
-Premium: This is the amount you pay every month for the insurer’s promise to reimburse.
-Deductible: This is a threshold — it is the amount of money you have to pay out of pocket before your insurance kicks in.
-Risks or Perils: These are the events that cause damage.

After learning these few phrases, you’ll be ready to pick the perfect policy for you — but if you still need a hand, we’re always here to help :)

So you’re thinking about buying private health insurance, but still haven’t figured out if it’s right for you.

It’s OK — we can help with that!

There are several factors to consider when it comes to making such a decision — so here are some of the pros and cons to get you started :)

Pros of private health insurance:

-It can cover unexpected medical costs, such as surgery, hospitalization, and other life-saving care.
-Private coverage often gives you more options for treatment
-Some private plans let you choose your own doctor
-Wait times are often shorter

Cons of private health insurance:

-Many private policies come with steep monthly premiums
-Comprehensive policies have higher deductibles
-Most insurance policies don’t cover all diseases and conditions, so you might not be completely covered.

It’s a lot to think about — so if you need some help weighing your options, just leave us a comment down below or send us a message and we’ll point you in the right direction :)

Navigating health insurance plans can be a daunting task.

The terminology is confusing, policy breakdowns are hard to follow, and the stakes are awfully high.

So to make the selection process easier, here are a few things for you to consider:

1) Your employer’s plan may not be the best deal

This is because group insurance premiums are based on the group’s average health — so if you’re healthy as a horse, you might find a cheaper plan or one with more benefits.

2) The lowest premium plan may not be cheaper in the long run

Low premiums are tempting, we get it! But when it comes to medical emergencies, premiums might not even be the most significant cost.

After all, plans with lower monthly fees tend to make up the difference elsewhere — usually with a high out-of-pocket deductible!

3) But don’t avoid high-deductible plans either

If you maintain your health and have the means to cover the expenses, higher deductibles can actually save you a lot of money in the long run!

There’s a lot to think about when it comes to picking a health care plan — so if you’d like to discuss it further, drop a comment below or send us a message :)

It may seem obvious — but did you know that home insurance and rental insurance aren’t the same thing?

Well, in case you didn’t, allow us to clear up the confusion:

To put it simply, home insurance provides coverage for damages and losses due to unexpected perils like theft, flooding, or fire.

It’s for people who own their house or apartment — and covers both the physical structure of their home and the personal belongings inside.

Rental insurance, on the other hand, provides coverage for losses and damages to a renter’s personal property — not for the building itself.

So know the difference, and pick the right policy to make sure you’re covered either way!
