STUNTING HAWKS [SH],was formed nearly one and a half years ago by the joint efforts of some youngsters in the city of Kannur.Initially, there used to be small gangs in Kannur which consisted of amateur racers and stunters.But no one had considered stunting as a sport at that time and had not given it much importance.So inspite of the huge potential,stunting remained hidden in some nook and corners
of Kannur.Then slowly these gangs started coordinating and finally decided to form a mutual gang, eventually STUNTING HAWKS was born.Just as the ferocious Hawk which flew at great heights,the stunters wanted to reach great heights in this unique sport,though they knew it was a tough task ahead. Within a few days after our formation,we were offered with a Stunt show at Payyanur Engineering college.The Show became a huge success and received so much appreciation,that the news of our success spread like fire not only in Kannur,but also in the neigbouring towns.As a result of this we received some more offers soon,but we decided not to undertake any more shows untill we did some serious practicing to improve our skills.So we started,despite discouragement from our families we stuck to our passion and worked as hard as we could,to learn and improve.But the huge hinderance was that stunting was considered illegal by many and even the City Police was strongly against it.Inspite of the risk,practicing was done at deserted grounds and less populated areas.But at many instances the Police either chased us away and sometimes even seized our vehicles.As days passed by the situation started getting worse.The police marked our vehicles and we were considered no less than criminals.We wanted to take it as a challenge.We decided not to rest till we earned our name and respect. And then came the Turning point,we were asked to perform at Mangad Engineering college as a part of the Mela which was being held there.We were more than happy to take their offer but informed them about our problems with the Police.They inturn helped us a lot by convincing the Police that Stunting was not a crime but a noble sport.This way we got authorization to perform and practice stunts without causing trouble to the public. The stunt show became the highlight of the Mela and people came to watch it from all parts of Kannur and beyond.We also got huge Media Coverage.Several Malayalam Television channels expressed their interest in broadcasting a programme on us and finally we agreed for a programme with Jai Hind TV.They also took our interview.This way we became the talking news of the city,and started getting closer to achieving our dreams.
