Education during Covid Pandemic – Our Experience so far

Coronavirus doesn’t seem to need any introduction today; neither does its impact on various industries and sectors. We would like to share our little experience with Education & Training over the last year and a half.

We have been working pedantically towards enabling access to resources to students from less popular cities and towns. We have connected quite a few students with online resources, reading materials, and volunteer teachers. In addition, a few of our volunteers are also collaborating with fellow organizations in an attempt to navigate with ease.

Our lessons from the last year and half are:

1. A significant number of students from smaller towns and cities are facing an acute shortage of digital teachers. In some cases up to four subjects are taught by a single teacher, some are even worse without anyone at all.

2. Access to devices is quite challenging in some households since the parents would value entertainment over educational access to their children. Children are expected to use the devices for specific times of the day.

3. Most of the children from these sectors are not authorized by their parents to install third party applications even they’re free, paid versions are not even considered. With little freedom, they’re compelled to use Google, WhatsApp.

4. While our beloved PM Modi talks very highly about Digital INDIA campaign, the reality of Digital Adoption is marginal among a vast population.

Lastly, we would like to humbly request you to join our efforts in helping the children cope. We only request you to join us in virtual teaching.

Also, please like, share this post to help us get more volunteers!

We, at Dreams United, wouldn't be part of this dynamic organisation if not for the unconscious or conscious efforts of inspiring us to follow our dreams when we were at the right age of youth to have our minds ignited by Dr. Kalam. We pray for his soul to rest in peace. We hold our highest respects for this man, for Dreams United was once Dreams Ignited.
