The Indian markets maintain its uptrend led by positive Asian cues. Major S&P BSE Sensex gainers — ITC, Infosys, RIL, ICICI Bank, HDFC Bank, TCS and SBI.

The BSE Sensex is up 0.78% after hitting its highest intraday level in 2-months while the NSE Nifty also rose 0.82%.

Global news:

Asian stocks rose to six-week highs on Tuesday, led by a rally in Chinese shares, while gold took a breather after its biggest one-day gain in more than a year.

The Indian markets are trading in the negative terrain as investors chose to book profits after a sharp rally in last session. Majority of the sectors are trading lower.

The IIP for May contracted by 1.6% as compared with a growth of 2.3% in April.

Oil companies hiked the price of petrol by a steep Rs1.55 a litre, without taxes, as the falling rupee made imports costlier. The price of diesel was kept unchanged.
