With profound sorrow and deep pain, we bid farewell to Prof. Yirmiyahu (Herman) Branover, of blessed memory — founder and guiding visionary of SATEC, one of the many pioneering initiatives he led and brought to life, a groundbreaking scientist, and a man of extraordinary vision, who passed away yesterday.
Approximately 40 years ago, with the blessing of the Lubavitcher Rebbe, Prof. Branover carried with him a unique vision: to establish in Israel a hub of knowledge, innovation, and scientific excellence for scientists who immigrated from the Soviet Union. From this vision, he founded a technological incubator that enabled many scientists to realize their abilities in the fields of electricity and measurement—a vision that became a groundbreaking reality.
From those early beginnings grew SATEC, which today stands as a leading and thriving international company in the field of electrical measurement and control instruments—an achievement that reflects the depth of his vision and his unwavering belief in the human capacity to create, innovate, and make an impact.
Prof. Branover was not only a distinguished entrepreneur and scientist, but also a former Prisoner of Zion, who carried on his shoulders the story of aliyah, faith, and devotion to his people and his country. His work was recognized with awards from the State of Israel for his contribution to Israeli society. In the fields of science and academia, he received international honors in physics—testament to his exceptional achievements and lasting influence.
The legacy of Prof. Branover is deeply etched in Israeli industry, in the world of science, and in the story of the State of Israel as a home for innovation and renewal.
We bow our heads, share in the family’s grief, and express our deep gratitude for his work and his unique contribution.
May his memory be a blessing.
