Proposed Transfer of Engagements Member Update
We would like to thank all of our members who participated in the Special General Meeting and voted on the proposed Transfer of Engagements.
Our members voted overwhelmingly in favour of the proposal, with 96% supporting the resolution. The Board and management are extremely grateful for the confidence our members have shown in the direction we recommended for the future of the Credit Union.
For the proposed transfer to proceed, the necessary approval was required from the members of both credit unions. North Midlands Credit Union did not reach the 75% threshold required and as a result the proposed transfer will not proceed at this point.
We fully respect the decision made by the members of North Midlands Credit Union.
For our members, it is business as usual. Your savings, loans and services are unaffected, our three branches remain open as normal and our team remains fully focused on serving our members and communities.
The Board will now take some time to consider the outcome and our future strategic direction. We entered this process because we believed it offered an opportunity to strengthen the services available to our members and ensure the long term development of the Credit Union.
Those ambitions have not changed.
The 96% support received from our members gives us considerable confidence as we consider the next stage of our development.
We would again like to sincerely thank our members, staff and volunteers for their hard work, engagement and support throughout the process.
