We are developing this page with the hope that it will facilitate and strengthen contacts and connections between all who have an interest in Dunleer. It was established in 1998. It grew out of an idea that the town needed a forum to foster good relations within the community and beyond, one forum that various bodies of authority could speak to if they needed to address concerns of the community. In recent years, the Body has grown in expertise, and become a facilitator for it's member groups, to the point where it is often thought of as a nascent Town Council, and is certainly well respected by official authorities. Its work has become far reaching, and is having a positive effect on the town. Since it's foundation, the umbrella body has grown in membership to over thirty different groups representing a diverse cross-section of society in the Dunleer Area of Co.

At the well attended public meeting, there were a number of changes on the Board - stepping down as officers were Kyran McGrory and Edel Byrne.

Elected to the Board for 2015 were Olivia Cosgrove, Doctor's Lane and Barry McGinn, Woodlands.

We welcome Olivia and Barry and look forward to working together in the year ahead.

We wish to acknowledge the enormous work and dedication given by Kyran and Edel - we know you are still busy in your own lives and look forward to working with you both again in the future. It was a pleasure to serve with you.

PUBLIC MEETING NOTICE - Thursday 6th November 2014 at 8pm.

Venue: The Market House, Main Street, Dunleer, Co. Louth.

In early September the Board sought feedback from members of the community on what matters were of importance and worthy of discussion at one of our public meetings.

The most dominant issue that arose from this feedback was the subject of increased traffic on the Main Street in Dunleer town with associated safety concerns.

In response to these concerns the Board has organised a public meeting for THURSDAY 6th NOVEMBER 8pm in The Market House Dunleer,

This public meeting is being held to facilitate the opportunity for members of the community to outline their concerns and allow for discussion regarding possible solutions for addressing the matter.

Your local Councillors have been invited.
