Closing remarks at the Atlantic Maritime Strategy and Action Plan. 🌊

Melissa Meade representing us here at NuaFund had the privilege of delivering the closing address at the Review of the Atlantic Maritime Strategy and Action Plan, bringing an inspiring day of discussion, collaboration and knowledge-sharing to a close.

The event highlighted the strength of the Atlantic maritime community and the importance of working together to support sustainable growth, innovation and resilience across our ocean and coastal economies.

Lelystad, The Netherlands 📍

NuaFund is in Wageningen University & Research in Lelystad this week as part of the Rural BioReFarmeries project, meeting partners and seeing first-hand how innovative bio-based solutions are moving from concept to reality. Today, we're visiting Wageningen’s ACRRES demonstration facilities, where project partners are showcasing how grass can be transformed into high-value products, including sustainable bio-based packaging, while creating new value streams from biorefinery by-products.

It's inspiring to see the strong collaboration, innovation, and practical thinking that is helping us to build a more circular and sustainable bioeconomy across Europe.

Together with (MTU), NuaFund plays a leading role in the coordination and management of the Rural BioReFarmeries project, helping to bring together partners from across Europe to advance innovative and sustainable biorefinery solutions.

Making waves in marine renewable energy.🌊

Really interesting discussions yesterday at the Atlantic Pillar III & IV webinar on the future of marine renewable energy across the Atlantic Area.

There were valuable conversations around the environmental challenges linked to large-scale MRE deployment, and how Ireland and Portugal are approaching solutions through collaboration, research and innovation.

Great to hear perspectives from across the sector on balancing innovation with environmental responsibility and supporting sustainable growth in the MRE space moving forward.

As one of the REGENERATE project partners, we attended the in-person project meeting held ahead of last week's All-Ireland Bioeconomy Summit at Saint Ultan’s Church in Rathcore, one of Ireland’s newest environmental education venues.

The meeting brought together representatives from all partner organisations to reconnect, share updates and discuss project progress and next steps. It also marked the first in-person meeting attended by new project team members Dr. Maxwell Y. Owusu-Twum of EnviroGrind and Harini Prasadee Lelwala Guruge of Munster Technological University, who provided introductions and updates on their work within the project.

Thanks to Foster Environmental for organising the venue and refreshments and for hosting this welcoming and productive gathering, reflecting strong collaboration and continued momentum across the project.

Today’s 25th National Bioenergy Conference hosted by Irish Bioenergy Association (IrBEA) brought together a wide range of voices from across the bioenergy and sustainability sectors, with insightful discussions on biomass, biochar, policy, innovation and the future of renewable energy in Ireland.
