We are deeply saddened and appalled by yesterday’s terrorist attack in Israel, which claimed the life of an innocent civilian and left others injured.
Terrorism in all its forms is unacceptable and can never be justified. Such acts of violence only deepen suffering and undermine the prospects for peace, security and prosperity for all.
We extend our deepest condolences to the family and loved ones of the victim and wish a speedy and full recovery to those who were injured.

Rahmi Koç apologized Saturday for “jokes” that targeted Kurds. Turkish authorities opened a probe. But this isn’t about one man. It’s about a state culture where humiliating Kurds passes as humor. When anti-Kurdish racism is casual for billionaires, it’s systemic for everyone else. Apologies aren’t enough. Turkey must end the racist norms it protects — in media, politics, and law. Jokes don’t happen in a vacuum. They happen where the state allows them.

If Turkey wants the world’s respect, it must end its war on Kurdish dignity — in courtrooms, in classrooms, and in its own constitution. Until then, every “joke” is a state policy. And every apology is a lie.

Rahmi Koc, a prominent Turkish businessman, issued a formal apology on Saturday, a day after making remarks he presented as a joke but which many viewed as offensive toward the Kurdish community. Turk

The investiture of Ardashir at Naqsh-e Rostam: carved in the heart of Kurdistan’s mountains. Ardashir I receives the ring of sovereignty from Ahura Mazda — divine right, justice, and Zoroastrian power, bestowed upon the land of the Kurds.

From the Zagros rose the Sasanian Empire. From Kurdistan came the kings, the culture, and the fire that shaped the Middle East for centuries.

On this day in 1967, the Six-Day War broke out, marking a pivotal moment in the history of Israel and the region. In the weeks leading up to the war, 3 Arab armies, Egypt, Jordan and Syria, with support from Lebanon and Iraq, gathered near Israel's borders and threatened to wipe the tiny Jewish state off the map, forcing Israel to respond swiftly in order to protect its civilians and its territory. Israel was victorious, and the war resulted in the reunification of the Jewish people's holiest city, Jerusalem.
Today, we remember those who fought for Israel's safety and security during that historic week in 1967.

Message to Iranian protesters: The UN heard your screams. Then gave your ex*****oner a promotion.

This is not a joke. This is real.

The Islamic Republic of Iran has been nominated to chair a United Nations committee tasked with protecting women’s rights, human rights, and combating terrorism.

Let that sink in.

A regime that arrests, tortures, and kills women for showing their hair.

A regime that treats women as second-class citizens under Sharia law.

A regime that denies its people the most basic freedoms and has repeatedly opened fire on peaceful protesters in the streets.

A regime with one of the highest ex*****on rates in the world, which continues to execute people every single day.

A regime responsible for the massacre of tens of thousands of its own citizens.

And now this same regime is being entrusted with defending women’s rights and human rights.

As for combating terrorism, the absurdity speaks for itself. Few regimes have done more to spread fear, instability, violence, and extremism across the region and beyond.

Yet some European democracies supported this nomination.

The United Kingdom.
Spain.
France.

Countries that claim to stand for freedom, democracy, and human rights.

What message does this send to the women imprisoned in Iran? To political prisoners awaiting ex*****on? To families who have buried their loved ones after decades of repression?

What message does it send to the Iranian people, who have spent decades fighting, suffering, and dying for freedom?

This is not diplomacy. It is a betrayal of the very values the United Nations claims to defend.

Shame on everyone who made this possible.

Today, we honor the memory of the Farhud, the pogrom that forced Iraq’s Jewish population to flee following massacres and systematic persecution. To escape the violence, many had no choice but to flee north through Kurdistan to reach Israel. Amidst this crisis, many Kurds offered shelter and aid, saving the lives of their Jewish neighbors.
