Last Wednesday, RDF Ghana visited our partner, Foundation Ghana (SUFOD), in the Northern Region.

We were there to honour them for hosting the first AgroWoman 360 (AW360) programme and to strengthen our partnership.

AW360 is our flagship initiative that equips women with financial literacy and economic tools to support their growth and development.

Sung Foundation continues to make a positive impact in Northern Ghana by empowering women, children, girls, and marginalized groups.

Together, through the Village Savings and Loans Association (VSLA) model, we are advancing a shared mission: improving the lives of women and promoting gender equality.

Congratulations SUFOD on your commitment to SDG 5!

RDF Ghana joined the global call for awareness in October by organising a breast cancer talk and screening session for our staff.

We’re proud to prioritise employee wellness — ensuring our team is informed, supported, and screened. Together, we stand for awareness, prevention, and hope. 💗

Thank you Ark Medical Centre for making this happen.

🍚 “We have the rice — but no buyers.”
That’s the reality for many rice farmers in Northern Ghana this season.

Despite a good harvest, unfavourable market conditions, worsened by imported unregulated rice flooding the market has left local farmers struggling to sell, the Chamber of Agribusiness Ghana (CAG) reports.

RDF Ghana’s monitoring team joined Rujo Agritrade, our partner in in Tamale to check on progress and hear from farmers.

🎥 Let’s hear what Musah from Rujo has to say.
When we choose local rice, we invest in Ghana’s farmers and future. 🇬🇭

Farming is tough — and doing it without the right support makes it even tougher.

That’s why RDF partners with outgrower businesses like Oyster Agribusiness to make sure rural farmers have what they need, when they need it — from seeds to fertilizer.

With timely input supply, farmers can grow more, earn more, and build stronger livelihoods. 🌾

Together, we’re creating decent work and growing rural economies. Where our funding goes, impact grows!

Imagine that you walked to your favorite mill run by a woman and found that she was absent because she had been battling breast cancer. Sad, right?

At RDF Ghana, we believe a strong harvest or a thriving agribusiness must be matched by strong health. This October we spotlight breast-health awareness for rural women — because development that ignores health is incomplete.

We stand with the women who feed our nation and the families who love them. As the World Health Organization reminds us, behind every diagnosis is a story of courage, resilience and hope — and every journey deserves compassionate, timely and quality care.

Promote and participate in free exercises and encourage to do same.

From small foodstuffs trading to running her own bofrot business — and even planning her shea sales for better income — this rural woman’s journey shows what happens when opportunity meets determination.
With support from her VSLA and RDF finance, she’s now able to care for her family and send her daughter to senior high school.

Every loan. Every story. Every woman counts. 💫

This week we celebrate resilient rural women — their enterprises, their community spirit, and their commitment to health. Alongside stories of entrepreneurship, we’re also shining a light on breast cancer awareness among rural women.
With RDF’s support through finance, training and local partnerships, women are building stronger, healthier futures. Watch and share their stories — and tell us which one moved you most.

Poverty is more than lack of income — it’s unsafe homes, limited healthcare, and unequal opportunities.

This , we celebrate RDF beneficiaries who are building better lives through access to credit and sustainable agriculture.

Hand in hand, we can beat poverty through agriculture. 🌾💚

They plant, they nurture, they feed nations. 🌾💚
This , we celebrate the women whose strength sustains Ghana’s farms and families.

With RDF support through our partner institutions, women-led VSLA groups are accessing credit, buying inputs, and transforming their stories — one harvest at a time.

We’re in Tamale for the 2nd Inclusive Finance and Impact Investment Forum! 🌾✨

Hosted by UDS in collaboration with MEDA through the GROW2 Project, supported by Global Affairs Canada, the event explores how to bridge the financial inclusion and investment gap for women-led agribusinesses in Northern Ghana.

Day one reminded us that when women are financially included, households and communities thrive. 💪🏾
