3A’s Microfinance Limited (3A’s) is owned by a Ghanaian married couple, Mr. Ben Arhin Sackey and Mrs. Josephine Mawuse Sackey, who are also the sole registered shareholders of the company. The company was born out of the microfinance scheme of Socioserve-Ghana - SSG, formerly known as Drama Network, a non-governmental organization (NGO) also founded by the same couple. SSG operated a credible and

vibrant microfinance scheme as part of its focal service areas. The scheme which was started in February 2007 was operated within Akosombo and its environs in the Asuogyaman District of the Eastern Region. Realizing the need to expand the microfinance services by accessing (accepting) deposits from the general public, the Board of Trustees of SSG in June 2010 took a decision to de-link the microfinance component from SSG and to establish and operate a separate limited liability microfinance company. The decision to de-link the microfinance scheme from the NGO’s activities subsequently led to the incorporation of the company. The three (3) “A’s” represents the first letters of the local Ghanaian names of the three (3) children of the company’s owners, which are, “Acquah”, “Ahemba” and “Asaaba”.

As part of our CSR, 3A’s sponsored a 15-year-old young lady (Trudy Asaaba Sackey) to create a mini library for the VRA Presby Primary School of Akosombo.
Trudy, who is the CEO of the ‘Let Them Read’ project has the ultimate objective of making reading easily accessible to all young folks in the continent by creating libraries for these students. She believes that reading builds the imagination of kids and make them dream bigger.
3A’s is pleased to be a partner to this objective. We have further assured to continue to make reading materials available to the library and also conduct annual reading competition with various prizes to boost the reading interests of these kids.

3A’S MICROFINANCE LTD CONTINUES TO FIGHT COVID-19
As we continue to observe all protocols on COVID-19, 3A’s decided to meet with the Taxi and Trotro Drivers of the Akosombo Township. These drivers handle monies that pass through thousands of people therefore are very susceptible to COVID-19 transmission. However they have little education on the risk this poses to them, their families, friends and passengers. 3A’s seized the opportunity to educate these drivers and also present hand sanitizers to aid their daily activities.
The effort was appreciated as you can see from the smiles on their faces.
