From the early risers navigating traffic before sunrise, to entrepreneurs who turn “small-small” into something remarkable, to professionals holding it all together even when the Wi-Fi (and sometimes the lights) have other plans, this day is for you.

And today, we give special recognition to our capital market workers, the regulators, brokers, analysts, custodians, registrars, and all professionals within the ecosystem who work diligently behind the scenes to keep our financial markets credible, transparent, and growing. You may not always be in the spotlight, but your impact on Ghana’s economic development is undeniable.

On this International Workers' Day, we celebrate not just the work you do, but the resilience, discipline, and commitment you bring to it every single day. Ghana works because you do.

Let’s be honest, being a Ghanaian worker comes with its own special skill set: patience, adaptability, and the ability to stay productive through meetings that could have been emails (and emails that somehow become meetings).

The engagement provided a valuable platform to reflect on industry progress, strengthen collaboration, and deepen alignment across key stakeholders. It also enabled forward-looking discussions focused on enhancing market efficiency, driving innovation, and reinforcing the resilience of Ghana’s capital market ecosystem.

32nd Annual International Institute for Securities Market Growth and Development

We were honored to participate in the 32nd Annual International Institute for Securities Market Growth and Development in Washington, D.C., at the invitation of the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, alongside the Securities and Exchange Commission of Ghana.

Our CEO Mr. Joseph Oko Lartey and Ms. Horlali Bodza – Lumor, Head of Legal & Company Secretary joined Commissioners and officials of SEC at this highly regarded global forum, which continues to provide a critical platform for knowledge exchange, regulatory dialogue, and collaboration among capital market leaders and infrastructure providers.

The program delivered valuable insights on emerging market trends, regulatory innovation, and the evolving role of market infrastructure in building resilient, efficient, and inclusive capital markets. We also found value in the contributions of the International Finance Corporation under the Joint Capital Market Program (J-CAP), especially considering their recent engagement with stakeholders in Ghana.
