I came across a Antminer U1 today... very interesting bit of kit. They cost around £50 around 7 years ago and found a reddit post stating they are not worthwhike and returns are terrible....

They earned around 0.0005 bitcoin per day which was pennies back then.

If you did buy one and kept hold of the bitcoin the value of the coins mined would equate to £170 per day!!!

Definatly paid off for the ones that held!!

And another rig due to go out to a customer today!

Most likely my last one to go out for a while as profits from mining are currently low due to a dip in the market.

Thankfully for the ones still mining difficulty rates are dropping fast meaning that the amount of coins you will mine per week will increase!

Markets down again this week - this time due to China stating that companies should not accept cryptocurrency as its not a legal payment although this has been China's stance the reiteration has affected the market.

It's interesting to note however that China is due to release its own national cryptocurrency soon...

With prices at the lowest in recent months a lot of people are taking advantage of the dips any buying with BTC and ETH currently at 75% buy orders and just 25% sell orders

Markets are down 10% today, whilst most people believe a 'correction' is due because of recent gains the root cause is down to a sinhle person....

Elon Musk.

Its mad how one person can have such an effect on cryptocurrency!

The reason? Musk believes coins that use POF (proof of work - mining with GPU/CPU/ASIC machines) is not enviromentally friendly so he has suspended tesla sales using cryptocurrency.

Whilst Bitcoin is generally considered as the father of crypto its gains are slowing down and it struggles to reach the all time high it reached in mid April.

Meanwhile, although the gas fees are high confidence is growing in Ethereum! Gains of over 50% in the last month alone and reaching new highs week on week! With some big changes due to the network itnwill be interesting to see how high ethereum can reach!

As i have mentioned previously Dogecoin is pretty volitile but is pretty profitable at the moment even if the coin has no real purpose.

One of the triggers for the price rises is tweets from Elon Musk!

So, Interesting weekend looking at the markets!

It started with Dogecoin dropping and stabalising on Saturday morning which was expected considering its huge gains last week.

Then, on Sunday morning everything crashed with most coins dropping 10-20% in value.

There is two potential causes of this, the first being blackouts in china affecting bitcoin and Etheriem mines (good news for everyone else mining though as this reduced the difficulty increasing profits) the second was due to reports that the US Treasury is planning to tackle financial institutions for money laundering carried out through digital assets.

As you can see, the markets have now started to recover and growth continues.

Ironically, the one coin that avoided drops when the rest of the market crashed was doge which is already back up to the near record highs it reached last week!

Created as a laugh based on a 'meme' dogecoin with no real purpose has been stable at less than $0.01 per coin.

As the rest of the crypto market settles aftwr large gains during the week Dogecoin is flying! Up over 4000% since January 482% in the last 7 days and over 170% today alone most probably due to it being listed on coinbase on Wednesday.

One of the coins ive kept clear of due to its volitility - Hindsight eh?

It will now be interesting to see where it peaks, watch this space!
