Reminder to all the millenials who feel like they've been saving forever for a house deposit.

Without financial help, it can be a very slow and ardous journey.

And you may well hear criticism from older generations telling you that you're just bad with money and need cut the 'luxuries'.

Well here's the numbers.

That's the headline.

Here's the story.

You've probably found it next to impossible to see your GP.

Are they to blame as individuals?

No.

They're not incompetent at their job.

Almost 100 GP practices in Northern Ireland have sought emergency support or are in crisis – which could lead to “complete collapse” of the health service, the BMA has said.

“The longer this goes on it will become irrecoverable, and that is a huge, huge fear of ours. This could be complete collapse of the health service."

Better planning and funding is what's needed.

Some people will be cautious of insurance companies.

Thinking they don't make their money by not paying claims.

The FCA would shut them down and they wouldn't make much money.

The basic principle is that the relatively small premiums we all pay for policies are pooled by the insurer, who then invests the money on a short and/or long term basis.

The returns serve to maintain and grow the value of the business!

The GP surgery is the first port of call for any patient.

It is an integral and vital part of the health service which we all rely on.

This service is under strain like never before.

Unfortunately you're going to still have to work.

But with these 5 things you can give yourself the best chance at financial security.

𝟭. 𝗣𝗮𝘆 𝗼𝗳𝗳 𝗱𝗲𝗯𝘁. That credit card debt that you're making minimum payments on, try and make it a goal to pay it off as credit cards typically have the highest interest rates.

𝟮. 𝗕𝘂𝗶𝗹𝗱 𝗮𝗻 𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗿𝗴𝗲𝗻𝗰𝘆 𝗳𝘂𝗻𝗱. Should speak for itself but 3-6 months of overheads in your account will give you better sleep. Unexpected events like weddings, car repairs, birthdays, home emergencies are hard to budget for and an emergency fund can help when on a budget.

𝟯. 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘁 𝗶𝗻𝘃𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴. You probably know you should have by now, if you haven't then start. Start small until you can commit more disposable income.

𝟰. 𝗛𝗲𝗮𝗹𝘁𝗵 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗹𝗶𝗳𝗲 𝗶𝗻𝘀𝘂𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲. The financial and physical implications of no protection isn't a reality that anyone wants. You may think it's unlikely to happen to you, but it can happen to anyone.

𝟱. 𝗟𝗶𝗳𝗲 𝗹𝗼𝗻𝗴 𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴. If you invest in yourself then you'll never go broke. Learners are earners.
