After what has been a very different summer for me personally, today is the start of getting back into the usual rhythm.

I just wanted to say a huge thank you for all the kind messages and understanding I’ve received over the past few weeks. It really has meant a lot. ❤️

I’ve continued working away behind the scenes and keeping things moving for my clients, and I already have a busy few weeks ahead with plenty in the diary. 📔

I’m looking forward to getting back into my usual routine and continuing to help both existing and new clients with their financial plans.

For a short while, I’ll be taking a little time away from my usual work and appointments following a family bereavement.

For my existing clients, your usual ongoing service and reviews will continue as planned, and if anything urgent arises or you need my help, please do get in touch and I will respond.

If we’re currently in the process of arranging an appointment or working through your financial plans, I haven’t forgotten about you and I’ll be in touch as I gradually return to my normal working routine.

No matter who you're supporting, one thing's certain...

The teams that reach the latter stages don't get there by luck alone.

They have:
✅ A game plan.
✅ A long-term strategy.
✅ The ability to adapt when things don't go to plan.

Financial planning isn't that different.

Life throws injuries, extra time and unexpected twists your way too.

Having a plan doesn't guarantee you'll win every match, but it does give you the best chance of reaching your goals.

Love finding little honesty stalls on my travels around Devon.

I stopped and bought some fresh peas. 🫛

It’s nice to know there are still places where people leave their produce out, trust people to pay, and support their local community. 🤝

They tasted far better than supermarket peas too!

📊 𝗪𝗵𝗶𝗰𝗵 𝘁𝗮𝘅 𝘁𝗵𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗵𝗼𝗹𝗱 𝗵𝗮𝘀 𝗯𝗲𝗲𝗻 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝘇𝗲𝗻 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗹𝗼𝗻𝗴𝗲𝘀𝘁?

The £3,000 annual inheritance tax gifting allowance has been £3,000 since 1981 😮

The inheritance tax nil-rate band has been £325,000 since 2009. 🧑‍🧑‍🧒‍🧒

The £100,000 income tax taper threshold has been unchanged since 2010. 💷

Inflation has continued 📈

So while the numbers haven’t changed, many tax allowances and thresholds have become significantly less generous in real terms. 📉

A useful reminder that tax planning is about knowing the rules, and understanding how available allowances fit into your wider goals ⚽️

Whether that’s ISAs, pensions, gifting, savings allowances or other tax reliefs, leaving allowances unused can sometimes mean missing opportunities that can’t be recovered later.
