Today is Stroke Prevention Day.

Managing high blood pressure is important at home and while travelling.

We’re working with the Stroke Association to raise awareness of the link between high blood pressure and stroke. We want to encourage as many people as possible to take simple steps to protect their health.

If you’re going abroad, make sure you declare your medical conditions, including high blood pressure, on your Travel Insurance so you can travel with peace of mind that you are covered.

Travelling with high blood pressure doesn’t mean you can’t enjoy your trip. It just means planning ahead. ✈️🫀

Before you go, make sure you pack enough medication, keep it in your hand luggage, and take a copy of your prescription. 🧳

The Stroke Association advises managing blood pressure through regular check-ups and medication, which is just as important when you’re travelling. 🩺

It’s also important to arrange Travel Insurance that includes any medical conditions you have, so you’re supported if you need medical help while you’re away. 🛡️

Medical care abroad doesn’t always work the same way as it does at home. 🏥

If you need treatment for a medical emergency while travelling, costs can add up quickly – especially if hospital care or specialist treatment is required.

Travel Insurance that includes your declared medical conditions can give you peace of mind. 🛡️

Ahead of Stroke Prevention Day, we’re working with the Stroke Association to help remind us that managing high blood pressure is an important part of protecting your health. No matter where you are in the world. 🩺

Planning a trip? 🌍

High blood pressure is one of the most common medical conditions travellers forget to declare. 🩺

Declaring it helps ensure you’re properly covered if something goes wrong abroad.

We’re working with the Stroke Association to highlight the importance of managing blood pressure to help reduce the risk of a stroke. 🤝

Who needs to use the EU’s new Entry/Exit System (EES)? ✈️

From 12th October 2025, most UK travellers will go through the new EES process when entering the Schengen Area. That means providing fingerprints and a photo at border control instead of a passport stamp.

But not everyone is affected. Here’s the breakdown 👇

✅ EES applies to:
• UK citizens travelling to the EU for short stays (up to 90 days in any 180-day period)
• Non-EU travellers entering under a visa-free agreement

❌ Exempt from EES:
• EU citizens
• Non-EU nationals with a valid EU residence permit or long-term visa
• Citizens of Schengen-associated countries: Switzerland, Norway, Iceland, Liechtenstein

💡 Tip: If you hold dual citizenship (e.g. UK + EU passport), travelling on your EU passport means you won’t be processed through EES.
