We wanted to share some further information which has been provided by the Government and some banks regarding the Coronavirus Business Interruption Loan Scheme.
The key points are:
Loans are available from £25,001 to £5m
Available from 1-6 years
No interest is Payable for 12 Months
Capital Repayment Holidays are available for 12 months as well – so some clients will have no payments to make in the first year
Loans are limited to 25% of the business’ turnover in 2019, or double the annual wage bill
These criteria may vary from one lender to another. However, there may be other forms of finance which might assist your clients, for example working capital loans, invoice discounting, or capital raising against property. We are happy to discuss finance options for any of your clients, particularly those who might need additional support at the moment.

Just done a comparison on staying with your lender with an early repayment charge of over £4,000 for the next 2 years on a rate of 3.69% with re-mortgaging now to 1.59% fixed for 5 years and still saving £200 per month on the same term. Interesting?

Mortgage rates are so low at the moment and those of you tied into higher rates may want to reconsider whether it's worth taking a hit on the early repayment charge and opt for a lower rate. A case in hand: Mortgage of £250,000 with 3 years left on a 5 year fixed rate of 4.15% and a monthly payment of £1220. Their early repayment penalty is £5000! But let's do the maths. We can get them a 3 year fixed rate deal at 1.69%. Their monthly payment drops to £925. That's a monthly saving of £295! Over 3 years that's over £10,000. So even paying back the £5000 on the early repayment charge you would still be £5000 better off. Food for thought.
