🌟 All 25kg bags of potatoes now £2 🌟

As we come to the end of this potato season, it’s fair to say that “challenging” doesn’t even begin to describe it.

The potato trade has been one of the toughest we’ve ever experienced. We’ve had orders cancelled at the last minute, merchants not collecting orders already bagged and ready to go, and, most concerning of all, a serious lack of demand throughout the season. As a result, we are now left with around 50 tonnes of surplus Markies potatoes sitting in the shed.

Unfortunately, we’ve already had to send our Babylon potatoes for stock feed this month because they simply wouldn’t keep any longer. Seeing good-quality potatoes go that way after all the hard work, time and expense that goes into growing them is incredibly frustrating, and we’re desperately trying to avoid the same fate for these remaining Markies potatoes.

Many of you responded brilliantly when I reduced the price of an uncollected order to just £2 per bag, so I’m going to do the same with the remaining stock.

At £2 a bag, we are losing money. However, I would rather recover something and see these potatoes enjoyed than watch even more of our crop go to waste.

If we cannot sell them by Monday 29th June, they too will have no choice but to go for stock feed.

So I’m asking for your help. Please buy a bag if you can, and just as importantly, please share this post with friends, family, neighbours, work colleagues—anyone who might be interested. Every bag sold genuinely makes a difference, and every share helps us reach more people.

These are still excellent potatoes for chips, mash, roasting, baking and boiling. They are simply at the end of the season, which means they won’t store for as long ( approximately 2 weeks now) as freshly harvested potatoes.

I’ve included a photo so you can see the quality for yourselves. They’re still a great potato, and it would be heartbreaking to see so many of them wasted after everything that’s gone into growing, harvesting and storing them.

To everyone who has supported us this season, thank you. Your custom, recommendations, shares and kind words mean more than you know. We truly appreciate every bit of help in trying to move these last potatoes and avoid seeing another crop end up as stock feed.

Due to the Babylon potatoes now not keeping very well once in bags, we will be no longer selling them from the shop.
We will still be selling Markies, but please be aware as we are at the end of the season now they will only last a couple of weeks once in bags.

🌟 you are all truly amazing 🤩 thank you to everyone that shared the posts and popped down to buy some potatoes and onions .
We have managed to sell all of the 3 ton of potatoes from the order that wasn’t collect we just have a few bags of the onions left .
A very kind lady brought some and asked if we would donate them to charity on her behalf . These were donated to Creative Crafters in Ramsey and they are offerings them for free ( please see their post on this)

We still have our normal stock of potatoes and onions left in our shop.
We are now coming to the end of the season so please be aware now that they are not going to store as well.

Thank you all again , I honestly can not thank you enough and the lovely comments we have received, you have made us smile .

We only have 25 bags of these potatoes left at £2 for 25kg ( wow I’m shocked at how quickly we are clearing this 3ton I can not thank you all enough) . These along with the 10kg bags of onions will be out front of the shop again this morning . Come get a bargain while you can .

🌟 edit 🌟 thank you all so much we have managed to clear the potatoes from the order that wasn’t collected, just a few bags of onions to go 🌟

Unfortunately we have been let down on an order that we have had ready to go since the 15th May .

I have included pictures to show the quality.
The Markies are still good with only a few going soft and the onions have started to sprout but overall still good .

I have 3 ton of Markies potatoes and 1 ton of 10kg small onions .

I would hate to see these go to waste so I have put them out front of the shop at a very reduced price.
( if it rains I will move them but just give me a call on the number in the shop)

Share them with your neighbours, friends and family as they are still good and we don’t need any more food waste.

Don’t forget you can buy our 5kg bags of potatoes and small bags of onions from Creative Crafters in Ramsey. So if you don’t fancy a drive out to us they are available in town .

Shops had a stock up from Bank Farm today too.
Grab your markies potatoes from us all week long.
Or you can still pop by their farm shop to support local farmers.

It had to be done, Home made potato salad and fried onions straight from our farm with a BBQ on this beautiful Bank Holiday Weekend. ( actually it’s our 3rd BBQ this weekend but the first one where I remembered to take a picture )
has to be done when the weathers nice!
Lynden is the BBQ king it gives me a break from cooking.
Well that’s what I tell myself even tho I prep everything and he just cooks it on the BBQ but even so …

Also would love some different potato salad recipes.

I stole mine from my best friend it has to be potatoes, mayonnaise and boiled egg. Yummy 😋

What a beautiful sight to start another hot and sunny Sunday .

If your planning on having a BBQ today our onions are lovely fried up on the BBQ and our potatoes boiled up make a nice potato salad!

Pop down to the farm 25kg are still only £5.
10kg and 5kg bags of potatoes are also available if you do not want such a big bag .
