Metfriendly

Metfriendly UK Police Family finance specialists, since 1893. Savings, investments and protection for serving, former and retired UK Police and their families.

Volunteers formed the Metropolitan Police Provident Association in 1893 mainly to help widows of colleagues, and retiring officers. In 1948 this became the Metropolitan Police Friendly Society. Since then we’ve been offering unique police-friendly financial products and services to serving and retired police officers, police staff and their families. Today we have grown to be a multi-million pound

organisation – but we STILL have our members interests at the heart of everything we do. Our friendly, expert team comprises experienced financial services professionals including actuaries and underwriters. But it’s our close relationship with the police service that helps us to provide a comprehensive range of savings, investments and protection products tailored to meet your needs. We know the ins and outs of the police pay system, pension scheme and political landscape. And we understand the risks you face and the worries your family deal with on a daily basis.

Meet September's London Retired Police Dogs Trust calendar stars: RPDs Parker and Quinn! 🐾

This pair arrived with their handler just three months apart and have been inseparable ever since.

English Springer Spaniel Parker worked as a specialist fi****ms, drug and cash detection dog, while German Shepherd Quinn took on general purpose, public order and fi****ms support duties – a real double act keeping communities safe.

Now both ten years old, Parker and Quinn are enjoying a well-earned retirement, with holidays to the Quantock Hills in Somerset among their favourite treats.

The Police Pension is notoriously tough to get to grips with.

Getting the full picture now could make all the difference when you come to retire.

On September 1st, we're hosting a free 90-minute myth-busting webinar, bringing together two expert speakers to answer your questions and cut through the confusion:

⭐ Paul Turpin – Senior Pension Advisor, Police Federation of England and Wales, with experience working on Police pensions since retiring from the Metropolitan Police in 2016.
⭐ Dennis Ledger – Principal Pension Lead for the Met on HR transformation initiatives, Programme Manager for McCloud and overseer of the Pensions Dashboards.

This event is open to Police Officers only and will take place via Microsoft Teams.

This is RPD Indy, your London Retired Police Dogs Trust calendar star for August! 🐾

Despite suffering a serious injury in her first two months on the streets, Indy defied the odds and went on to serve a full career as a general purpose, public order and fi****ms support dog – facing armed suspects and even finding a loaded shotgun during her time in service.

Now 14, she's living her best life in retirement in Devon – fully supported by LRPD through a series of ailments and injuries along the way. As her owner puts it, her retirement "would not have been possible without the continued generosity and support of LRPD".
