🚗 Learning to drive in Northern Ireland is changing.

The new Graduated Driver Licensing system came into effect yesterday, introducing the biggest changes to learning and newly qualified driving here in almost 70 years.

The changes include a minimum six-month learning period, a structured training programme and logbook, plus new rules for drivers after they pass their test.

If you already held your provisional licence before 1 October, transitional arrangements apply, so it’s worth checking which rules affect you.
