This week is Dementia Action Week 💜

1 in 3 people born today will develop dementia in their lifetime, and for every person living with it, there's a wider circle of people whose lives are quietly shaped by it too.

One of the things we hear most at Fayth Health is that people wish they'd had the right support in place sooner.

Private health cover can't prepare you emotionally for what dementia brings, but it can remove some of the practical barriers. Faster referrals, quicker answers, and access to specialists when the NHS waiting list feels impossibly long.

It matters that we keep talking about it openly, without stigma, and with more understanding than we sometimes show.

Has dementia touched your life or someone you love? We'd love to hear from you in the comments.

April is Stress Awareness Month 💚

For anyone working in HR or people management, it's a good moment to ask whether the support we offer employees actually reaches them when they need it most.

Most people who are struggling don't put their hand up at work. Not because help isn't available, but because accessing it feels complicated, visible, or uncomfortable.

PMI can change that. Counselling, mental health support and Employee Assistance Programmes are included in the best policies today, confidential, accessible, and available without going through internal channels first.

At Fayth Health, we work with people teams across Bucks and Bedfordshire to find cover that reflects genuine care. And we run drop-in sessions so your employees actually know what they've got and feel confident using it.

A benefit no one uses isn't really a benefit at all, we are there to support.

If you'd like to explore what the right PMI could look like for your team, drop us a message 💚

There are many misconceptions about private health insurance in the UK, and they can sometimes make it harder for people to understand the role it can play alongside the NHS.

Here are a few of the most common myths we hear:

Myth: “I don’t need health insurance because the NHS is free.”
Reality: The NHS provides incredible care, especially in emergencies. Private health insurance can simply offer additional choice and faster access to specialists, diagnostics, and planned treatments.

Myth: “I’m young and healthy, so I don’t need it.”
Reality: Health issues and injuries can happen at any stage of life. Many people choose cover not because they expect to need it today, but because they value reassurance and early access if something does arise.

Myth: “It’s too expensive.”
Reality: Policies vary widely. Many plans can be tailored to suit different needs and budgets, which is why exploring options can sometimes be helpful.

The reality is that no two policies are the same, and understanding the options available can help people make informed decisions about their health and wellbeing.

Private health insurance isn’t about replacing the NHS, it’s about complementing it and giving people additional choice when they need it.

If you’ve ever been curious about how private medical insurance works, the FAYTH Health team is always happy to help you explore your options.

Sometimes the most important thing in healthcare isn’t a new treatment, it’s a second opinion.

When concerns about memory and behaviour arise, early signs can sometimes be difficult to detect through standard testing. Access to a specialist and further diagnostics can bring something incredibly valuable: clarity.

And when clarity comes earlier, it can make a meaningful difference.

Early diagnosis can open the door to the right medication, the right support, and small adjustments that help someone remain independent for longer. It can also help preserve something just as important, dignity, relationships, and quality of life for as long as possible.

For families, that clarity can change the path forward.

If you’d like to explore the impact a second opinion had for one family, you can read the full story here:

🌷 Happy Mother’s Day 🌷

Today we celebrate the incredible women who do it all, juggling work, family, health, and everything in between.

From managing busy schedules and deadlines, to keeping up with school runs, household tasks, and family appointments, from remembering everyone else’s needs to rarely finding a quiet moment for yourself, mothers carry a lot.

At Fayth Health, we understand how little time there is for yourself. We’re here to support you and your family, helping you feel confident that your health care isn't another source of stress.

To all the mothers, stepmothers, grandmothers, and mother figures: thank you for everything you do, often without pause.

Today is a little reminder that you matter too.

💛 Take a moment for yourself today.

You deserve care, support, and reassurance, just like the families you look after every day.

World Sleep Day 🌙

During stressful times, sleep is often the first thing we compromise and the last thing we prioritise.

Yet research consistently shows us that sleep is fundamental to physical health, mental clarity and long-term wellbeing.

• Adults need 7–9 hours of sleep per night for optimal functioning.
• Around 1 in 3 adults report regularly struggling with sleep.
• Chronic sleep deprivation has been linked to increased risk of heart disease, diabetes, anxiety and depression and dementia.
• Poor sleep also affects concentration, decision-making and emotional regulation.

We see how often disrupted sleep sits in the background of wider health concerns.

And this isn’t theoretical for us.

Both Jo and myself recently recognised that we haven’t been getting enough rest and recovery ourselves. Like many people balancing work, responsibility and life’s demands, sleep became secondary.

So today is a simple reminder: sleep isn’t a luxury. It’s maintenance.

Are you giving your body enough time to recover?

Prioritising sleep may not feel urgent, until it becomes essential.

At FAYTH Health, we take the pressure off private medical insurance, giving clients clarity and confidence so they can focus on their health, not paperwork or policy confusion. That peace of mind is one less thing to lose sleep over.

Good health isn’t only about treatment, it’s about prevention, awareness and sustainable habits.

When clients ask about private medical insurance, many advisers want to help but PMI can be complex.

👉Policies vary widely.
👉Healthcare needs change over time.
👉And when a client needs to claim, the quality of advice they received at the start really matters.

So here’s a simple PMI checklist for IFAs when supporting clients who are exploring private healthcare:

PMI Client Conversation Checklist

☐ Have you discussed why the client is considering private healthcare? (speed of access, family protection, peace of mind)

☐ Do you understand their current health priorities, routine care, specialist access, mental health support, physiotherapy?

☐ Have you explored whether this is for an individual, a couple, or a whole family?

☐ Does the client understand what PMI typically covers, and what it doesn’t?

☐ Have you considered budget, excess levels, and long-term affordability?

☐ Has someone clearly explained how claims actually work in real life?

☐ Does the client know who they can speak to when they need support navigating their policy?

The reality is this, Private healthcare is about far more than choosing a policy.

Clients need guidance on:

• Understanding cover
• Accessing treatment
• Making the most of their policy when health concerns arise

That’s where Fayth Health supports IFAs.

We work alongside advisers as a trusted PMI partner, helping your clients understand their options, access the right healthcare support, and feel confident about the decisions they make.

You stay the trusted adviser to your client while we provide the specialist healthcare guidance that strengthens the service you deliver.

If you’d like to explore how we can support your clients together, I’d be delighted to have a conversation: [email protected]

Imagine removing the stress from your healthcare decisions.

❌ No worrying about how long it might take to see someone.
❌ No uncertainty about where to go next if something doesn’t feel right.
❌ No feeling like you’re navigating the system alone.

For many families, that’s what having the right private medical insurance can offer, not just cover for the unexpected, but clarity, speed and reassurance when health questions arise.

Private healthcare options can provide:

✔️ Quick access to GP advice, including convenient video appointments
✔️ Faster routes to specialist consultations when needed
✔️ Support for services such as physiotherapy, mental health, dental and optical care (depending on the plan)
✔️ The reassurance of knowing support is there for you and your family

But understanding private medical insurance can feel overwhelming. Policies differ, cover varies, and it’s not always obvious what’s right for your situation.

That’s where FAYTH Health comes in.

We don’t simply “sell” policies. Our role is to guide you through your healthcare options, explain what different plans actually mean in practice, and help you find cover that genuinely supports your life, your family, and your peace of mind.

If you’d like to explore what private healthcare could look like for you or your family, I’m always happy to have a conversation.
