Ever think about how you can make a difference for your family? 🌟

I had the pleasure of helping a client set up a trust for their children recently. They wanted to ensure that their hard-earned assets support future family milestones, while still keeping some control over how those assets are used.

Here’s how we made it happen:

- Understanding Goals: We sat down over a cup of tea and discussed their vision. What do they want to provide for themselves and their children? Education? A first home?🏠
- Setting Up the Trust: Together, we explored the ins and outs of trusts, allowing them to protect their assets while ensuring their children will benefit.👨‍👩‍👦
- Peace of Mind: Knowing that the children will have this support without losing control over the funds felt like a weight off their shoulders. 😀

It’s that simple! Crafting a plan that aligns with your values can be truly rewarding. Have you thought about how you can safeguard your legacy?

The recent changes to Inheritance Tax (IHT) rules have left quite a few people feeling a bit confused. It’s understandable; navigating these discussions can feel daunting.

Many are worried about how these adjustments might affect their plans and what steps to take next. It’s not uncommon to feel stuck, but there are straightforward ways to approach this.

Firstly, it’s worth checking how the new rules impact your current situation. You might find adjustments can lower your potential tax bill, allowing you to leave more for your loved ones. Having a clear plan in place makes all the difference.

It’s about knowing where to focus your efforts, rather than just doing more. Whether it’s reviewing your will or exploring trust options, taking one step at a time helps you regain control. If this feels overwhelming, remember that you’re not alone in this.

Reach out if you’d like to discuss your options; sometimes a chat can clarify a lot. You can contact us today at [email protected] or 07866 655475.

Honest question for company directors:

Do you know the actual tax rate you’re paying on the money you put into (or take out of) your business?

In many cases, pensions can offer a more efficient route than most people expect — but only if they’re used deliberately, not as an afterthought.

For the right business owner, a pension isn’t just retirement planning.

It’s tax planning, cash-flow planning, and exit planning rolled into one. This is where small changes often make a big difference.

If you would like to know how your pensions can work for you, why not book in with me for a free no obligation financial review!

Just a quick reminder that the value of investments can go down as well as up, and you may get back less than you invest, past performance is not a reliable indicator of future results and your home may be repossessed if you do not keep up with mortgage payments.

Are you a Company Director or a Business Owner? Here is a little food for thought 💡

Whilst the below graphic is broadly accurate at the time of posting, it does require a couple of clarifications:

📈 Dividends can only be paid out of profit, so corporation tax will have already have been paid on the funds, at the likely rate of 25%

🙋 To qualify for the for the NI Allowance, reducing the amount of NI Paid, you need to have at least one employee

❌ If the employee is you and you are the sole director, then you do not qualify

Are you being smart with your money and the way that you pay yourself? 💵

This is not advice, it is for information only! ℹ️

I had a fascinating time with BlackRock yesterday, who hosted me and other industry professions at the fabulous Ivy in Nottingham yesterday!

It is good to gain insight from companies and individuals as to where they think that the market is going over the coming year, as that assists us, as Advisers, in formulating plans and strategies to ensure that your funds and portfolios are in the right place to maximise your returns as we work towards your goals.

Also if you are looking for somewhere for a great meal, The Ivy would be top choice!

Good Afternoon Facebook! Today I thought I'd share with you some details of a case I have completed in the last few months.

Case Study:

I have a client based near Manchester 🌍, he has a successful business that turns a profit of £2 Million plus per year 💵 and the funds were just sat in his business current account, they were earning 0.2% interest per year. 🤯

We worked out what his operating margins were and what he needed for cashflow, we looked at his growth plans and what he may need for the coming 12-18 Months. We then devised a plan to structure his pension and company holdings to maximise his annual allowances, carry forward and how to retain money within the company for him to draw on should he require it.

We opened a SIPP and transferred in his existing pensions, we then added the full £60,000 allowance for this tax year in, as he has in mind to purchase a commercial property to hold within his SIPP in time.

We maxed out his ISA for the year and invested the remainder in corporate investment accounts, at last call the funds that we have invested have returned him over 75 x more than they were receiving and we have tax efficiently drawn down on company funds. 💥 💥

Happy client, ecstatic adviser! ❤️

I was fortunate enough to hear Daniel Priestley talk at the Nottingham City Business Club Christmas Event at the end of 2025 and I have just got around to reading one of his books, it’s a great take, I’ll give you all my full thoughts when I have finished it. Does anyone have any suggestions of business books or podcasts that have helped you structure your thoughts and your businesses?
