One of the biggest misconceptions we hear is:

“I can’t move house because I’m fixed into my mortgage.”

But that’s not always true.

Some mortgages are portable — meaning you may be able to take your current mortgage rate with you when moving home, rather than losing it completely and avoid paying an early repayment charge.

If you’re upsizing and need to borrow MORE money, the additional borrowing would be on a separate mortgage rate based on the lenders products available at the time.

And if your mortgage ISN’T portable? That doesn’t automatically mean moving is off the table either.

We can look at:
— what the early repayment charge would be
— how much equity you have available
— what a new mortgage would look like
— and whether the numbers still make sense for your next move

Sometimes the “dream home” is a lot more possible than people think.
