Inflation matters – why?

Unless your bank account savings are returning more than the rate of inflation, you’re losing money.

As a Quilter Financial Adviser, I can help you achieve your financial goals and beat inflation.

Too early to start saving for retirement?

It’s never too early to start saving for your retirement. Compound interest on your savings means money will grow in value when saved for longer.

As a Quilter Financial Adviser, I can help you discuss your pension options.

The value of pensions and investments and the income they produce can fall as well as rise. You may get back less than you invested.

Here are 3 of the most common retirement questions that I can help you answer.
1) When can I afford to retire?
I can help you understand your current pensions and investments and how they can be used in the most
efficient way to generate an income for you. You can also use the online BR19 form to get a state pension forecast. https://www.gov.uk/check-state-pension
2)How much income will I need in retirement?
How much income you need is not only dependant on your essential expenditure but also what kind of retirement
you are hoping for. Whatever you want for your retirement, whether this includes travel, home improvements or
spending more time doing the things you love, I will be able to pull this together into a financial plan to
help you arrive at a sustainable figure.
3) How should I invest?
Financial planning starts not with ‘which fund?’ but with ‘what’s my objective?’ I will help you be clear about
what you want from your money and when. We will then discuss how much investment risk you can stomach and what that
might mean in different market conditions. Only then will I talk about investments. For most people the right answer is
a professionally managed diversified portfolio using many different holdings.

Question....whats the most valuable financial lesson you have learned? From a very young age my parents always taught me to 'save for a rainy day' and that stays with me even to this day!

Two more days to work this week then that's me done for 2 well deserved weeks off...nobody tells you how HARD it is to run a business on your own but somehow you just keep going and growing. I am more than ready to spend two weeks switched off with the people that mean the most to me.

Didn't get into the final for the women in financial advice awards...lovely to be recognised but for me its not about awards and never has been. I just love doing what I do and having clients appreciate me is worth more than any nomination.
'My experience of Vicki in relation to her work as a financial advisor is that she is very knowledgeable, honest and
transparent. Vicki very patiently goes through information so that I, as the customer, am informed and able to make
my own decision helping me to understand the potential benefits and risks of my financial plans. I always feel able
to ask Vicki questions about things I don’t understand and I also appreciate Vicki’s guidance including linking me to
other experts if required (e.g. in relation to my NHS pension). Vicki follows through on agreed actions and responds
rapidly if I have any queries. Whist we are not the most wealthy of clients I feel that we are as important to Vicki as
if we were. I also appreciate Vicki’s attention to our life stage and family priorities in our financial planning which is
something I find particularly helpful. I would recommend Vicki to family and friends.'

Inflation is now at 7.9% the lowest it has been for over a year.
This is still far too high and unless you are getting the same return on your money than it is devaluing all the time...FACT!

JARGON- something this industry is very good at. Flexi access, crystallised, uncrystallised, protected benefits, NPA, annual allowance, risk....the list goes on. For me its about keeping it simple and ensuring people are in a fully informed position. Why? People fear the unknown and by putting things simply it takes the fear out and helps them build a secure financial future which lets face it...its what we all want right?

I recently asked a client for a review and here is what they had to say:
Vicki is a really professional, personable advisor. I was struggling with my choices of how to make my money work
best for me with the hope of taking early retirement in the next 5 to 6 years. Vicki was brilliant. She made the time
for me when it was best for me, explained everything in terms that I understood, sometimes re explaining it several
times! She really knows her stuff and at the same time quickly seemed to understand my feelings about how I
wanted invest. I would definitely recommend Vicki (and have sung her praises in school!) to anyone who needs help
with the constant challenges to those trying to understand financial plans for retirement .

Protection….
Life cover
Critical illness
Business protection
Income protection the list goes on….

Do you have it if so when was the last time it was reviewed?

Why? Because our circumstances change throughout life and it’s key to review to ensure that it remains suitable for our needs.

I am shocked the amount of people that don’t yet they have pet insurance, Netflix, sky etc

For me it’s a PRIORITY not an option.

The amount of people I speak to who tell me ‘I haven’t got a pension’ ‘what’s the point I might not live until retirement age’ ‘I’d rather spend my money now’ ok that’s fair enough but for me it’s SIMPLE….
1) Tell me where else you can get an extra 20% on what you put in for FREE or in the case of a higher rate tax payer 40%!!
2) it’s never too late to start one
3) if you die before age 75 the money can be passed to your beneficiary/s tax free and in my case it’s my two little people right there.
4) if you are part of a workplace pension they will also contribute (again FREE)
No brainer right?
