As the renovations crack on, we’re really pleased to say our band bookings calendar is now officially open [email protected]

And we couldn’t think of a better way to kick things off than with Dave Hull and band performing The Alan Hull Songbook 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐍𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐦𝐛𝐞𝐫.

It feels like a fitting first booking given the deep connection between The Magnesia Bank and Lindisfarne.

Behind the scenes, Phase 1 of the renovations is coming along well. We’ve pretty much levelled the main bar floor, opened up the sightlines to the stage, and next we’ll be making the stage bigger and creating new access to the toilets — all aimed at making the live music experience better for both performers and audiences.

Phase 2, including brand new toilets and other bigger building improvements, will come much later.

For now, we’re focused on getting Maggie Bank ready to reopen, getting bands booked in and bringing live music back to the venue.

More announcements coming soon.

Hello North Shields, time for a quick update!

Things have taken a little longer than we’d hoped, but the renovations are now moving along well.

We’re currently creating a bigger main stage, a more open-plan bar with better views of the stage, upgraded sound systems and improved soundproofing for our neighbours.

We’ll be back with more news soon, including other renovation work and the all important opening date!

Brilliant to have Liam Fender at the Maggie Bank this week while filming Here We Are - a documentary about the music scene and cultural heritage of North Shields.

Hello North Shields - we're excited to say The Magnesia Bank is coming back.

A new team have taken it on, we're putting in a lot of TLC, and can’t wait to get the place buzzing again with local music and good times 🍻🎸. We’re still working out the details, so no set reopening date yet — it’ll be a few months at least.

Thanks for bearing with us, and keep an eye on here for updates!
