And that's what it's all about, really. Witnessing the sparkle in a child’s eyes when something magical has occurred is 😍 and makes my heart absolutely sing!

Our personalised Elf letters turn up in random places around the home, addressed to your child(ren) by name. They’re full of North Pole pranks and adventures, hand-drawn illustrations and a good sprinkling of Elf mischief (with the all important message about kindness!).

Then they get read out loud, usually in a very dramatic voice and suddenly it's a Christmas tradition.

We hear from families who now open theirs every December, often alongside their Elf on the Shelf, or as a countdown to Christmas Eve. Some of our letters even come from Father Christmas himself (and Santa, if you prefer), so you can pick the one(s) that suits your family!

How Does Father Christmas Choose Which Children Receive Letters from the North Pole?

Father Christmas and the Elves can only send out 2,654,789 letters from the North Pole each year, so not every child receives one. The recipients are chosen from a very long scroll of names, with a little help from the Postmaster General and an assistant Christmas Elf.

So how does Father Christmas choose which children will receive Personalised Christmas Elf Letter Bundles and Letters from Father Christmas?

Even though he has his own computer, and plenty of help from Elf Lyra, his super duper technology whizz, he still uses a most old-fashioned method to decide. He watches while the Postmaster General writes an extremely long list of names on an even longer rolled-up piece of paper.

As the Postmaster General unrolls the scroll and runs a finger slowly down the list, the assistant Christmas Elf waits for the signal. Every so often they shout “That one!” at the top of their voice, and Father Christmas writes down the name and details of the chosen child.

✨Christmas magic lives in the little traditions.✨

VERY excitingly, International Elf Service, the Official North Pole Post Office, ✨✉️ has been declared OPEN for Christmas 2026 ... by Father Christmas himself! 🎅🏼

And I managed to record Father Christmas’ announcement!

As the sun rose over the Elves’ Workshop this morning, the Elves gathered in the Square for the Grand Launch. Father Christmas gave the signal, the trumpets blasted 🎺 and the Postmaster General (wearing his very best bobble hat) signed the scroll to authorise the release of Magical Mail for Christmas 2026. 📜🎄

With the press of the Large Golden Button, 🌕 the Original Magical Wind Machine whooshed into action alongside the shiny new one, doubling the output of personalised Elf letters. Magical Newspapers and other festive goodies. Fireworks popped in the sky, marshmallows toasted themselves in mid-air and every Elf cheered until they were hoarse.

And so, with enormous joy (and a mountain of cinnamon biscuits), we are THRILLED to declare International Elf Service officially open for Christmas 2026!

The first Christmas orders will be dispatched TODAY! 🥳

Gerald is absolutely terrible at guessing how many rustic wooden Sleighs to make. Every year he stands in the workshop, scratching his head, trying to work out how many sleighs to build.

So this year, we’re doing things differently. And we only have 24 hours. When they’ve gone they’ve gone.

We’re only sending as many sleighs as there are pre-orders. So if you pre-order now, in the next 24 hours, Gerald will start measuring the timber the moment you do.
