Software development can often be plagued with problems and setbacks, resulting in a failure rate of about 20%, and the process can be quite expensive. As a result, some professionals in the industry have begun to promote the use of low-code/no-code development as a simplified approach to software creation.
With low-code/no-code development, advanced IT knowledge and coding skills are not necessary, resulting in faster and easier software development. No-code platforms offer a drag-and-drop interface where pre-made code blocks can be arranged visually, while low-code platforms provide shortcuts to help developers work faster.
In 2021, Forrester predicted that 75% of all app development would use low-code/no-code platforms, which is a 31% increase from 2019. According to Gartner , more than half of all medium to large enterprises will have adopted a low-code application platform by the end of 2023.
