🐾 Happy National Pet Month! 🐶

At our office, every month feels a little like National Pet Month thanks to our four legged regulars, including the much loved Roger, one of our resident office dogs who takes his role as our unofficial Chief Happiness Officer very seriously.

From boosting morale in the mornings to encouraging well timed breaks throughout the day, Roger consistently reminds us of the positive impact a dog friendly workplace can have on wellbeing and productivity. ❤️🐕✨

In this episode of In Conversation With, MASECO Partner and Head of Advanced Planning, Andrea Solana, is joined by Psychotherapist and Mental Health Clinician, Holli Rubin, for an open and reflective discussion on the psychology of money and the emotional relationship women can have with wealth.

Money is rarely just about numbers. It is shaped by life experience, identity, relationships and personal values, yet these emotional drivers are often overlooked in traditional financial conversations. In this episode, Andrea and Holli explore why our relationship with money is so deeply personal, how it develops over time, and why understanding these dynamics is particularly important for women.

Drawing on Holli’s clinical experience and Andrea’s work with clients at MASECO Private Wealth, the conversation looks at how women’s experiences of wealth can differ depending on background and circumstance - from generational wealth and inheritance, to divorce, career success and major life transitions. They discuss common themes such as control, confidence, anxiety and responsibility, and consider how these factors can influence financial decision‑making.

The episode also reflects on how advisers, families and institutions can better support women by creating space for open dialogue, education and empathy - helping to foster healthier, more empowered relationships with money.

This conversation forms part of MASECO Private Wealth’s Women’s Initiative, which aims to broaden the conversation around wealth by recognising the emotional as well as financial aspects of long‑term planning.

Thank you to all our wonderful clients and guests for joining us one week ago today for our fourth ‘Female Voices’ event, titled ‘Money on the mind: Past, present and future’.
On the day we explored our earliest money memories, the beliefs we carry into adulthood, and the ways we can build a healthier, more empowered relationship with money. A huge thank you to Dimensional Fund Advisors and their speakers on the day, Olivia Stewart and Sarah Stacy, who helped us to explore our Past, as well as Psychotherapist and Mental Health Clinician Holli Rubin, who delivered a fantastic talk on how our Past beliefs show up in our Present relationship with money.

A huge thank you also to our MASECO female initiative team - Andrea, Lara, Jen, Emma, Amy and Anna - for creating such a reflective, supportive space and acting as facilitators of our conversation circles.

We also loved gifting everyone beautiful journals from Good Tuesday - a female-owned, B Corp certified business based in Cornwall - the perfect companion for continued reflection.

And of course, thank you to Soho House 180 Works for hosting us in such a warm and welcoming setting.

Swipe through for photos from the day - we’re already looking forward to the next conversation!
