Last weekend, Autumn Fisher took to the grid on home soil as the F1 ACADEMY™️Wild Card Driver in Montreal, representing Standard Chartered. For Autumn, it all started with a moment of clarity during a race weekend: “I want to be on track. I don’t want to be the one sitting here watching.”

Her story is a reminder that confidence isn’t something you’re born with, it’s something you build lap by lap, through experience.

Ali joined Standard Chartered in 2018 as one of the first colleagues in our Warsaw hub. Since then, he’s grown alongside it 🙌

Today, he leads quality control teams across Poland and India as a Director, with a career shaped by continuous learning, strong leadership support, and the drive to never stand still.

“Resilience, curiosity and lifelong learning have shaped my career. They mattered even more when I took time off to focus on my family and then returned to a fast-moving marketplace.

Upskilling helped me move from self-doubt to confidence. Balancing full-time work and caring responsibilities, I completed specialist diplomas in Big Data Management and AI Solutions Development – steps that opened the door to my first AI role and shaped the path I’m on today.

As I progressed, I became more aware of the challenges women face in AI, from underrepresentation in leadership to confidence gaps and career breaks. Standard Chartered proudly served as the venue partner for the Wellbeing at Work Summit, Asia 2026, held in Bangalore on 30 April 2026.

The event featured a keynote address by Karthik Ramamurthy. His talk highlighted the evolving nature of resilience, shifting from the outdated notion of simply working harder and longer towards a model rooted in sustainable performance. This new approach is built upon the pillars of physical, mental, emotional, social, and financial wellbeing 🙏

Karthik also emphasised the transformation underway within Standard Chartered where the focus is moving from endurance to sustainability.
