Cyprus is moving fast.

EXANTE was at The Wealth Week Cyprus 9-10 June in Limassol, where wealth managers, family offices and investment professionals gathered to discuss wealth and cross-border investment across Europe and the Middle East.

At the event, Yana Leonova, EXANTE senior relationship manager, met Demos Katsis, Deputy Mayor of Limassol, to discuss the city's digital transformation plans.

"It was a pleasure to meet deputy mayor Katsis and discuss Limassol’s digital transformation initiatives and vision for a smarter, more connected city. Limassol is much more than a tourism destination. It is positioning itself as a business, technology and innovation hub for the Eastern Mediterranean,” says Yana.

EXANTE is proud to launch Gecko Fund, a €1 million grant programme for the critical open-source projects that keep trading and financial data systems running.

Open-source software powers 70% of modern business, but 63% of the maintainers behind it lack adequate funding. This is a structural risk sitting at the foundation of global financial markets.

At EXANTE, we want to do something about it.

The first grant is already out, a €10,000 award to Kryo, a binary serialization framework for Java maintained as a passion project since 2009, with zero outside funding.

Open-source is load-bearing technology. At EXANTE, we believe the industry that benefits from it should help sustain it.

Grants range from €10,000 to €150,000. Applications open now at geckofund.org

Fairways, famous faces and a few good swings. EXANTE's Warsaw outing had it all.

As sponsor of Golf Business League, EXANTE was represented by senior relationship manager Andy Knigawka and Poland head of sales Szymon Turecki - and they shared the course with some notable company.

Former Poland national team professional footballer and Champions League winner, Jerzy Dudek, former national football team manager Michał Probierz and renowned celebrity chef Karol Okrasa, all competed too.

Szymon and Andy will be teeing off again soon in the second tournament of the four-part Golf Business League 2026. Next up is Mazury Golf & Country Club, Olsztyn, on 24-25 June.

“I participate in delivery not only as a Product Owner who signs off on the result, but as someone who opens merge requests, which surprised me as much as anyone.”

These are the words of Nastya, who climbed EXANTE’s ranks to become Product Owner, not a developer. Yet now she’s helping ship code to production.

Taking the pen in our latest Tech blog, she describes how she’s been using AI in her day job. Competitor research that used to take her a week now takes a day. A feature that needed up to two months now ships in three to four weeks.

She is also clear about where she keeps AI out: fact-checking for a regulated product, prioritisation decisions, and conversations with users. Her conclusion is that AI is good at turning a blank page into a draft, and not much more.

EXANTE is pleased to share that we will be joining the official delegation accompanying President Nikos Christodoulides of the Republic of Cyprus on an upcoming visit to Kazakhstan.

Kirill Korneychuk, EXANTE executive director and vice president / executive committee of CIBA, will be part of the delegation in Astana, Kazakhstan, 2-4 June.

The visit, which will also include representatives from the Cyprus Chamber of Commerce & Industry and Invest Cyprus, offers an opportunity to strengthen ties between the countries and better understand what clients on the ground need.

We look forward to the event and the conversations and connections that it will bring.
