These are sad times. People lose security, their country, their homes.
Friends, families, kids rushing to safety, suitcases with clothes and some money. only the essentials.

It is difficult not to think about the last time we had a war in Europe. This time, the world is watching. Ukraine was left alone on the battlefield, suffering from Russia's untamed violence.

Financial support is not the same as 'boots on the ground'.
This is a geopolitical and financial war, run by a violent, egomaniac dictator. It is fought through nuclear threats and sanctions but it is fought on Ukrainian soil and it is the Ukrainian people who stand to suffer the most.

Putin must be stopped.

As a firm that operates in the financial industry, we have a responsibility towards market participants and the financial ecosystem. Solidus Capital and SolidusX are not supporting any financial activities related to Russia. That has been the case for many years and it is highlighted again now. Although we believe many people in Russia are innocent, and even taking a stand against their regime, we can not support any financial activity related to Russia. We are not offering or investing in any financial instruments or ventures that are related to Russia and we are not accepting clients or funds from Russia.

We are using our donations budget, supporting organizations across Ukraine that are involved in protecting the welfare of citizens.

U.S. index futures gained along with European stocks as upbeat earnings and a surge in corporate dealmaking lifted sentiment, offsetting lingering concerns over China’s regulatory crackdown and the spread of the delta virus variant.

Global stocks in July completed their longest winning streak since 2018, but the pace of gains was the slowest in the six-month winning stretch. Corporate earnings have generally aided equities, while the latest euro-area manufacturing data showed the recovery is on track, though concerns about supply bottlenecks and rising prices remain. Other risks include the impact of the delta virus strain on the world economy, as well as China’s push for more control over some of its major companies.

Australia’s economy expanded faster than economists forecast in the first three months of the year, driven by the private sector as firms boosted investment and households tapped their pandemic savings war chest.

Financial crises are not a rare phenomenon, and governments are challenged to come up with creative, while often aggressive monetary policies to revive the economy. The aftermath of the COVID crisis has central banks leaning on the zero interest rate policy tactic.

When this tactic has been used in the past, it has been seen as a short-term strategy. This time around, governments and the federal reserve banks are looking to expand the concept into a long-term strategy. This week’s insight reviews the policy implications and explains how this worldwide challenge could provide investors with opportunity.

Global zero-interest atmosphere and fiscal expansions are changing the rules.

The relationship between the US and China became deeply complex during Donald Trump’s presidential term. Aside from harsh policies aimed at severing the country’s relationship, Trump’s most glaring flaw was his unpredictability and overall approach.

With a new president in the United States, the Biden administration is prepared to think strategically and long-term regarding their relationship with China. There is a lot of work to be done by the new US government, but Biden is a promising candidate due to his focus on multilateral resolutions between the superpowers.

Continuous tension between the two biggest economies is creating a range of concerns and opportunities.

All eyes have been on the stock market during the COVID pandemic. The global economy has witnessed record lows, unprecedented job loss and small businesses being forced to close their doors for good. While 2020 has been grim, stock market analysts predict we have lots to look forward to in the rest of 2021.

Our experts have compiled informative insights from the last year to help our investors consider which industries are looking encouraging and which may not perform so great in the aftermath of the COVID crisis. Learning how to read the economy’s movement is an important skill to develop while investing, and our COVID insights can teach investors how to interpret market trends.
