Who We Are
Every story has to start somewhere. It almost doesn’t matter how you start, but it matters that you start. MyRemit’s story started in Shepherds Bush, London. It was established by two individuals who lived in London but had a need to send money to loved ones in Africa. They both had to send money on regular basis to support relatives.
Working in Waterloo but needing to travel to Shepherd’s Bush to send money because all Hawala’s in the UK did not have banking facilities. We felt there was something we could as we could not understand how relatives in Africa were asking us to send money to their phones, whilst in London, – a 1st class city, a great city – did not have the same or even better way of sending money to Africa?
This need to push the Hawala industry in London to standards closer to the Fintech revolution happening in developing worlds but at the same time bringing governance, regulation and transparency of developed world is what started MyRemit.
Establishing MyRemit
MyRemit Limited was established in 2018. It is an online remittance service that sends money to your family, friends and business partners, whether they may live abroad or visiting another country using the latest technology to facilitate your money. We offer a convenient and low-cost alternative to the traditional money companies that use high street agents and charge you substantially less fees to transfer your hard-owned money.
