The Bank of England have now reduced the Base Rate to 3.75%!

What does this mean for your mortgage?

🌹 If you have a fixed rate, you will be unaffected.
🌹 If you have a tracker rate, your rate and monthly payment will reduce.
🌹 If you're sitting on the standard variable rate, take a look at your options (regardless of the Base Rate cut)!

If you have a mortgage application in progress, the reduction in the Base Rate does not necessarily mean fixed rates available with reduce.

📢 Important update for the self-employed 🌹

Most lenders now require your 2024–25 self-employed tax calculations / SA302s as your 'latest year' when assessing new mortgage applications, even if you have until Jan 2026 to have these finalised with HMRC.

📉 The Base Rate has dropped to 4%!

What does this mean for you?

✔️ Tracker rates will go down in line with the Base Rate reduction
✔️ Fixed rates may or may not change, as they're not directly tied to the base rate
✔️ If you're on a fixed rate, your payments stay the same

As a mortgage is secured against your home or property, it could be repossessed if you do not keep up the repayments. Think carefully before securing any other debts against your home or property. Some buy to let mortgages are not regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority.
