Thanks to everyone who came out to support us at our quiz earlier this week. And special thanks to Sam and Danny for being such excellent quiz masters.

We raised an incredible £377!!!!! All this money will go directly to supporting our neighbours in SE16.

This money will go so far in helping our neighbours this month. But it won't last longer than the next couple of months and we will not be able to support our neighbours for longer than this.

Please consider setting up a recurring donation to the fund, even the equivalent of an hour's wage a month will go so far!

The beginning of a new month gives us the chance to look back at the work done the month before. In February 2022,

4 people claimed from the fund

We raised £155 in donations

We’re so grateful to all the neighbours who were able to help us out this month. However, we are seriously running low on funds and are currently not able to give support to everyone that asks for it.

If you are able to give to the fund today, any contribution is welcome! If you want to help the fund but aren’t able to contribute money, we ask that you share this post with three people who might be able to help. The more people know about us, the more neighbours we can support!

This month is Women’s History Month and Tuesday marked International Women’s Day.
The theme of this year’s is . Today we’re going to on how women have been financially affected by Covid.

Research by McKinsey & Company has shown that women are 1.8 times more likely than their male counterparts to lose their jobs due to the pandemic. The reason for this, in part, is due to the overrepresentation of women in the hospitality and retail sectors, which have been hit the hardest during this crisis. Additionally, the economic gender inequalities that already existed makes this more difficult. Single mothers who have to do the work of parent and breadwinner at the same time, to women who have partners but are more likely to cut down their hours and take up caring responsibilities, the effects of recession and austerity are already affecting women more than men.

We also want to recognise the struggle of all women, no matter their age, social class, belief, sexuality, gender identity and ability. For now, we want to show our solidarity to women around the world – the fight continues and we are with you!

If you're struggling on what to get your Valentine (or Galentine) this year don't bother with a dozen red roses that will need to be thrown away next week, or be ripped off buying a heart shaped box of chocolates!

Donate to the SE16 Fund in your partner's name instead and help your neighbours while showing how much you love them.

The beginning of a new month gives us the chance to look back at the work done the month before. In January 2022,

- 6 new people contributed to the fund
- 6 people were able to claim from the fund
- £328 was raised in fund

We’re so grateful to all the neighbours who were able to help us out this month. However, we are running low on funds and are currently not able to give support to everyone that asks for it.
If you are able to give to the fund today, any contribution is welcome! If you want to help the fund but aren’t able to contribute money, we ask that you share this post with three people who might be able to help. The more people know about us, the more neighbours we can support!

We’re back!

Although we’ve been active behind-the-scenes and have still been approving grants to members of our community, we’ve been offline for a few months. In that time we re-vamped our image and come up with a new colour scheme for our social media.

Most excitingly: We have a NEW LOGO - we hope you like it!

For our first post back, we want to answer a frequently asked question to make it easier for our claimants to understand how to request from the fund:

• Proof of address: do we require a date on it?
- After four months of claims, we require that a new proof of address be used. This is so that we can ensure that we are giving funds to people within the SE16 postcode. We would love to be able to give funds to people outside of this postcode but unfortunately we have to set some limits, and this is an important one.

We hope all our followers are well and looking forward to Solidarity in the community in the coming year!
