Who you gonna call?

"Ideas are easy, ex*****on is everything, it takes a team to win"

In my experience this quote is completely true.

Whenever I hold strategy sessions there are no end of great ideas.

The challenge is often picking the two or three for the business to focus on and actually deliver.

I help my clients make this decision, I am not part of the day to day and this helps me to help them look at the big picture.

Once the priorities are established I then help my clients execute by working out a detailed action plan and keeping them accountable.

This makes my client achieve what they want to achieve.

"I didn't get into business to do numbers"

That's fine.

I work with lots of successful business people and entrepreneurs who don't like numbers.

They hate spreadsheets and shudder at the thought of speaking to HMRC.

They are brilliant at what they do, creative, motivated, inspirational and knowledgeable.

This is where I help, I take care of the numbers I tell them what they need to know and only what they need to do.

They can then focus on what they do and not worry that they are missing something.

What difference would it make if you made one less bad decision a year? a quarter? a month?

Could having better financial information help with this?

Stressed Boss Stressed Business.

There is clear research to show that a Stressed Boss has a massive impact on an organisation as a whole, and that this in turn negatively impacts performance.

In the worst cases this stresses the Boss even more and a nasty negative spiral ensues.

I deal with a lot of owner manager and it is a stressful job, I try to help take some of this stress away.

I also believe that Bosses should take steps to manage their own stress levels.

The usual suggestions in this regard are:

· Self-awareness and Mindfulness
· Delegation and Empowerment
· Establishing Boundaries
· Seeking Support

But for me the first step is to take a moment and consider your emotions and overall stress level. Is it high? Do you need to take action? If you do take it.

How far have you got on Intuition?

How much further could you get with Intuition and Information?

Many Small Businesses go a long way on Intuition alone. Their owners understand their business deeply and generally make good decisions.

It is what entrepreneurs are famous for, spot an opportunity and go for it.

I would never want to remove intuition from the decision making process.

But if you add information to the mix, then you can really go places.

Lets say that today you get 8 out of 10 decisions right based on intuition you will be doing great.

How much better would you do if that was 9 out of 10?

By adding information to the mix it could be.
