For years, the pesticide industry has defended glyphosate as safe ‘if used correctly.’ But evidence suggests that it is unsafe over the long term even at very low levels.

We need to stop the use of glyphosate as a pre-harvest desiccant - and the government needs to give support to farmers so they can move away from this damaging practice.

Pre-harvest desiccation is the practice of spraying crops with glyphosate, to kill them and dry them out prior to harvest. This can leave glyphosate in the crops - no time to dissipate.

It’s a simple change that could make a huge difference.

As part of Pride Month, we've matched up the colours of the Pride flag with some incredible amphibians and reptiles.

Some of these species are familiar faces here in the UK, while others, such as the tomato frog, come from much further afield. A couple - the marsh frog and alpine newt - have even established themselves as non-native species in Britain.

They may come from different places, occupy different habitats, and lead very different lives, but together they showcase the remarkable diversity of the herpetofauna we love and work to protect.

Diversity is worth celebrating, whether we're talking about wildlife or people. Froglife are proud to be an inclusive organisation and stand against discrimination towards LGBTQIA+ people.

Pride Month is a time to celebrate people for who they are and to champion a world where everyone can feel safe, respected and valued.
