It was lovely to welcome Annie and Jules from Annie Mawson's Sunbeams Music Trust - Sunbeams to the branch recently! ☀

During their visit, they presented our Mortgage Manager, Ollie and Marketing and Communications Manager, Suzi, with a certificate of appreciation, thanking Penrith Building Society for our support as a Friend of Sunbeams.

We were also delighted to present Sunbeams with a check from the Affinity Account donations raised - a contribution that will help support the fantastic work they do 💛

We've had a fantastic time visiting Dogs Trust Cumbria Community Hub in Penrith today and learning more about the amazing work they'll be doing when the hub opens.

It was such a warm, welcoming and friendly environment, and it was great to hear about the different ways the hub will support both dogs and the local community 🐶🐾

A huge congratulations to Rachel on becoming a Mortgage Underwriter! 🎉

Three years ago, Rachel joined the society with no financial background, starting out as a Case Handler. Since then, through hard work, determination and a real passion for learning, she’s continued to grow and develop - progressing into an Advisor role and now achieving her goal of becoming a Mortgage Underwriter.

Rachel’s journey has been amazing to watch and she should be incredibly proud of everything she’s achieved. She’s a shining example of what can happen when someone works hard, embraces every opportunity and believes in themselves 💫

We loved every minute of volunteering with Eden Valley Hospice 💙

We were delighted to welcome Suzi, Michelle, Josiah and Louise from the Penrith Building Society to the hospice last week, who kindly volunteered their time to help in our gardens! 🪏💙

They took lots of time making our walled garden, a truly special space where our adult in-patient bedrooms open directly onto, giving patients and families a peaceful place to spend time together, enjoy the flowers and hear birds tweeting!

The team did a fantastic job, and the garden is already looking wonderful! 🐛

Friday night marked a huge milestone for Calthwaite First Team, proudly coached by our very own Operations Manager Tom, as they lifted their first piece of silverware in their debut season in the Westmorland Football League ⚽

A dominant 7–1 win in the Junior Cup Final sealed a memorable night, but the celebrations didn’t stop there. On Monday evening, the team followed it up with a 2–0 victory, securing promotion to Division 1 and moving one step closer to clinching the league title. 👏

Well done to everyone involved - we’ll be cheering you on all the way! 💙🏆
