Yesterday (6th April 2022) Easson Energy, Proen and Viridi were honoured to jointly host the launch of the GLOBAL CLIMATE EFFICIENCY INITIATIVE (GCEI) at the British Embassy in Bangkok.
The GCEI is a joint initiative between PROEN Corp PLC , Easson Energy Limited and Viridi Projects Limited and we were very pleased that the Honourable Mark Garnier MP, The Prime Minister’s Trade Envoy to Thailand, Myanmar and Brunei was there to witness the launch.
As proud and active Chamber members we were also delighted for Greg from the British Chamber of Commerce Thailand (BCCT)and K. Lak from AustCham Thailand joining us to witness the occasion.
What is the GCEI?
The GCEI is designed specifically to bridge the current global funding gap for individual Energy Efficiency projects deemed too small or complex for major financial institutions to consider.
The GCEI will provide the funding required for qualified projects, empowering companies who provide energy efficiency solutions, renewables and other green technologies to offer their products and services with easy access to specialised and industry-focused bespoke funding solutions.
The GCEI will enable an initial US$475,000,000 (£360,000,000) (THB 15,997,525,000) in projects over the next 5 years.
By introducing this fund, the stakeholders aim to accelerate concrete action on reducing Green House Gas emissions.
Thank you UK in Thailand for your help and support.
