“You had me at hello” may work in the movies but in a mortgage network, the real test is what happens after hello.
Because joining a network is not speed dating. It is not a quick handshake, a glossy brochure and a wave from the doorway once the ink dries. At Connect, the dotted line is not where the honeymoon period ends. It is where the relationship properly begins.
That is where Kevin Thomson comes in.
As Corporate Director at Connect Network, Kevin sits at the centre of one of the most important parts of the business: growth with follow-through. Not growth that looks good on a spreadsheet, but real, steady, adviser-focused growth.
On one side is the “Join Our Network” recruitment team, headed by Tracy Robinson, helping prospective members understand whether Connect is the right home for their business. On the other side is the Relationship Manager team, led by Emma Roberts, who makes sure continue to feel seen, supported, and valued once they are part of the network.
In other words, Tracy helps open the front door. Emma makes sure the lights stay on, the kettle is warm and nobody feels like they have been shown to the guest room and forgotten.
Kevin’s role is to make sure both sides of that journey feel like one joined-up experience. No trap doors. No sudden change in tone once someone has signed on the dotted line.
Because brokers can spot empty promises from a mile away. They do not need a network that talks like a manifesto and behaves like a mystery box. They need one that says, “I get it,” and then proves it.

That mindset also runs beyond business.
Kevin has also taken on the Run 50 Miles in January Challenge, raising money for Maggie’s Centres to support people affected by cancer. It is another reminder that leadership is not just about growing numbers. Sometimes it is about putting one foot in front of the other, mile after mile, for something bigger than yourself.
And perhaps that is the thread running through Kevin’s work at Connect. Growth is not a sprint. It is endurance, consistency and commitment.
