I had a conversation with a client recently that really stuck with me.

We were talking about income protection, and they said...
“If I couldn’t work for a while, I’d just want life to feel… normal.”

Most of us aren’t thinking about worst-case scenarios day to day, we’re just getting on with life.
Coffee in the morning, bills getting paid, food in the fridge, making plans for the weekend.

But if your income stopped, even for a short time, it’s those everyday things that start to feel the pressure first.

That’s what income protection is really for.

Not something dramatic - just a way to keep things ticking over when life throws something unexpected your way.

Just something to think about...
If your income paused tomorrow, what would you miss first?

Thinking about getting a Will sorted but keep putting it off? You're not alone.

We're currently offering completely FREE wills to members of our local community. There’s no catch — the Will itself is 100% free of charge. We offer this as a way to connect with and support more members of our local community. Our aim is to build long-term relationships based on trust, so that if and when you need guidance around protecting your income, your family or your health, you’ll feel confident turning to us for advice and support.

Why is having a Will so important?

A will ensures that your wishes are clearly set out — who inherits what, who looks after your children, and how your affairs are handled. Without one, these decisions can be left up to the law, which might not reflect what you would have wanted. It can also make an already difficult time much harder for your loved ones.
The truth is, there’s never a “perfect time” to get a Will done. Life gets busy, and it’s easy to put off — but having it in place gives real peace of mind for you and your family.

Don’t wait for something to happen before you sort things out.
If you’d like to secure your free Will, just drop me a message or email — happy to have a chat and answer any questions 🙂

Have You Created Your Will Yet?

Many people put it off, but having a will in place is one of the most important things you can do for your family.

A will allows you to:
✔ Decide who inherits your assets
✔ Appoint guardians for your children
✔ Choose someone you trust to manage your estate
✔ Help prevent family disputes
✔ Give your loved ones clarity during a difficult time

The good news? I'll cover the cost of writing your will in full. From the creation to the solicitor approved seal, it's on me.

If you’d like to arrange your complimentary will, send me a message or comment “WILL” below to secure yours.

Always use a trust 📚

Always use a trust 📚

Before you pass away, remove your kids as direct beneficiaries of your assets Instead, place all your assets in a revocable trust and name your kids as beneficiaries of the trust.

This allows them to bypass the lengthy probate process and gain immediate access to the assets.

By doing this, you're ensuring that your children are taken care of without the hassle and expense of probate.

A revocable trust gives you control and flexibility – you can make changes as needed, and it's a solid way to protect your loved ones.

Plus, it keeps things private, unlike probate which becomes public record.

Think about it: with a trust, your kids get access to the assets quickly, without court involvement, and with minimal fuss.

You can also specify exactly how and when they receive the assets, giving you peace of mind.

It's a smart move for anyone looking to secure their family's future.

Talk to a lawyer to set it up right.

One accident.
One diagnosis.
One unexpected phone call.

That’s all it takes.

Most people don’t avoid income protection because they can’t afford it…
They avoid it because they don’t think it will happen to them.

Until it does.

I’m offering free, no obligation income protection reviews.

You lose nothing by checking.
But you could lose a lot by ignoring it.

Why wouldn’t you get something this important sorted?

Message me to book in.

If you couldn’t work for 6 months, would you be financially okay?

Do insurers actually pay out?
We recently had a client make a claim on his income protection where he was paying under £15 a week — and now that he’s off work, he’s receiving £3,500 tax free every single month.
That’s the true value of income protection. It’s not about the cost… it’s about what it pays when you actually need it.
If you rely on your income to cover your bills, this is probably relevant to you.
Want to see what it would look like for you? Drop me a message.

If you’re a parent, this is one of those things that’s easy to put off… but really important.

If something happened to you, who would legally look after your children?

Not who you’ve talked about.
Not who your family assume.
Who is actually written down and legally appointed?

A Will isn’t just about money - it’s about naming guardians, making things clear, and avoiding added stress for your family at an already difficult time.

I’m currently helping parents get their Wills written free of charge as part of their protection planning. The Wills are solicitor approved and are in addition to a free protection review.

So if you haven't yet sorted your Will, think it needs updating or just want some advice then my inbox is open.

🚨 Do you actually know what your insurance would pay out on? 🚨

A lot of people have life insurance or protection in place…
But many haven’t looked at it in years.

What I see far too often is policies that...
• no longer match someone’s income
• wouldn’t cover the mortgage properly
• rely on assumptions rather than facts
• or simply wouldn’t pay out the way people expect

The scary part?
Most people only find out when they need to claim - and by then it’s too late to fix.

That’s why I’m offering a free, no-obligation protection review.

I help people:
✔ check their existing policies actually do what they expect
✔ understand what’s covered (and what isn’t)
✔ spot gaps before they become problems

Maybe you have the right protection in place already, but is the risk of not having what's needed in place worth taking?

If you already have protection but aren’t 100% confident it’s fit for purpose, a quick review can bring some peace of mind.

Feel free to comment or message me directly to secure yours.

“I get sick pay — I’ll be fine.”

Most sick pay looks good on paper.
In reality in most cases...

• Full pay for a few weeks or months
• Then half pay
• Then Statutory Sick Pay only

Statutory Sick Pay is around £100 a week.

That still has to cover:

the mortgage or rent

- bills

- food

- family costs

It doesn’t stretch very far.

What income protection does is step in when sick pay stops or drops, paying you a monthly income so life can carry on while you recover.

And the part that surprises most people?

👉 For many people, income protection costs less than a coffee or takeaway each week.

So it’s not about expecting something bad to happen.
It’s about not having to rely on hope if it does.

If you are confident your sick pay would fully cover you long-term — that’s great.
But most people find it doesn’t.

A quick review is often all it takes to know for sure.

It’s Thursday. The week’s almost done. Which makes it the perfect time for a pause.

James was 37. Senior role. Solid income. Mortgage, two kids, plans.
He did everything right—or so he thought. Investments? Check. Retirement contributions? Check. Emergency fund? A few months, sure.

Then a back injury turned into surgery.
Surgery turned into complications.
Complications turned into 9 months off work.

Here’s the part most people don’t expect:
James didn’t lose his job.
He lost his income.

Sick pay ran out quickly. Savings drained quietly. The pressure didn’t arrive as a dramatic moment—it crept in through small decisions such as skipping extras, delaying bills, borrowing “temporarily.” Stress followed him into recovery. Healing slowed. Confidence dipped.

What changed everything wasn’t a raise or a promotion.
It was when he finally understood this truth:

Your lifestyle isn’t protected by your job title.
It’s protected by your ability to earn.

Income protection isn’t pessimism.
It’s continuity.
Time to recover without tearing your life apart.
Freedom from desperate decisions when pressure hits.

Most people insure their phone faster than their income.
Yet one replaces the other.

Thursday thought:
If your income stopped tomorrow, what would really be at risk - your comfort, or your control?

Food for thought as you head into the end of the week.

Your income is your biggest asset.
If you’re not sure it’s protected, let’s fix that.
