£300,000 House Purchase with just £5,000 for deposit… Halifax has a new product !

Halifax have just released a new £5,000 deposit product supporting First Time Buyers !

This is groundbreaking news for the first time buyer market, we all know how difficult it can be to save for a deposit while paying rent and bills… This new product might just be the extra boost you need.

Halifax £5,000 Deposit Mortgage Product:

• Only one customer on a joint application has to be a First Time Buyer
• Up to a maximum purchase price of £300,000
• £5,000 minimum personal deposit which cannot be gifted.
• Employed and self-employed customers; no minimum income level
• 5 year fixed rate product, with a £0 product fee available above 95% to 98.34% LTV
• A free Level 1 mortgage valuation will be included with these products.
• *Additional criteria applies, subject to affordability and decision in principal assessment
Other first time buyer options include:

Nationwide Helping Hand product:

• All applicants must be first time buyers
• Minimum income of £30,000 sole applicant or £50,000 for joint applicants
• With Helping Hand, a first time buyers could borrow up to six times their income. That's up to 33% more!
• Available up to 95% LTV on our 5 year fixed rate mortgages. And 90% LTV on 10 year fixed rates.
• Self Employed not accepted, employed persons only

The famous €1 houses are real: many small towns sell abandoned properties for a symbolic price to attract new residents and revive historic centers. Buyers must commit to renovating within a set time frame (3 Years) and often register as local residents. Headlines make it sound cheap, but the true cost includes renovation, permits, notary fees and local taxes — so plan for €10k – €100k+ depending on condition and location.
