This week in the Sunshine’s it was lovely to have some of the older children back to join us for the school holidays. We enjoyed hearing their stories from their time spent at school.
We have done lots of Halloween activities including dressing up as wizards and witches, painting pumpkins, decorating a witches crow and threading beads onto the spiders legs.
We also made some potions mixing in the blue coloured soapy water filling up the potion bottles and adding in some spiders and eyeballs.
We did a little experiment with some water and bath bombs, listening to the sound of it melting and watching the colours that mixed together and the textures it made 🎃💀🦇🐦‍⬛🧙‍♂️🧙‍♀️

This week in the Ducklings room we have been getting spooky ready for Halloween. 🕷️👻🧛‍♀️
🎃
We explored the sensory potion trays, played with the insects, saved the Pom poms from the sticky spiders web and made Halloween decorations. We enjoyed reading ‘Room on the broom’ and made up our own rhyming spells in the cauldron taking turns to find something to put in. 🪄✨🫧

This week the Sunshine’s and ducklings enjoyed a visit from zoolab. The children from nursery and reception at Hawes Primary School also came to join us.
We listened to the story of room on the broom except there was a twist of different animals, all of which had come to visit us.
We got to hold and touch the animals feeling the different textures and warmth’s of them. We also got to see how some of them moved along the carpet. We saw a frog, a spider, a giant snail, a snake, 2 cockroaches and 2 gerbils. 🐹 🕷️🪳🐌🐍🐸

Please can everyone use the bottom entrance on Monday and Tuesday next week. They are removing a tree from the disabled access leading from the car park down to town and need to close the area for safety. Thank you

This week in the ducklings room we have been making Autumn soup; mixing, exploring textures, filling and emptying.
We carved pumpkins and made pumpkin pictures. The children enjoyed dressing up in their Halloween costumes for a visit from zoolab and we have been dancing to spooky music developing our social awareness, listening skills and exploring movement. 🎃👻🧛‍♀️🥄🎨👨‍🎨
