Today’s inflation update could have an impact on mortgage rates 👀

If inflation stays higher than expected, lenders may keep mortgage rates higher for longer too.

Whether you’re buying your first home, moving, or remortgaging, it’s important to stay informed and review your options early with the help of a broker.

It’s a simple 30 second exercise that can save unnecessary explanations and wasted time.

We all have that friend who transfers you money and references it with their favourite obscene nickname for you 🤣 and you think it goes unnoticed 😬 until you apply for your mortgage and the lender asks you what that £100 transaction is for……

If you reference your transactions it definitely helps speed up approval

• There’ll be fewer questions
• Less back and forth time wasted
• A faster decision

And less embarrassment 🤣

Sometimes it feels like mortgage brokers should be detectives 🕵️ . It can seem like we are asking some seriously nosey questions but please be assured that if we are asking for the information then the lender/underwriter is going to want to know too or ask for the information if we haven’t provided it.

The more information you provide us with and we can give during the application it can speed up the process and avoid any set backs or delays in the mortgage process.

Also, the accuracy of information has to be perfect because it’s not just the broker that’s checking it, it’s the lender/underwriter. If it’s not correct it can complicate the mortgage application and delay things for you as a purchaser.

Fantastic new review on Google! It’s not an easy time for mortgage brokers at the minute, they don’t get enough credit for the work that is daily behind the scenes.

This recent review pin points just one of the examples of how we go above and beyond, particularly Alice. She is worth her weight in gold. Well Done

We pride ourselves in working with brokers and other services i.e solicitors who have the same high standards.

Today, for the first time in a while I switched my computer on to start the day and found I had received an email from a major lender reducing some of its fixed rates!

This must be a positive turn! Could this be a sign that the panic is subsiding and the markets are stabilising?

Here’s hoping more lenders follow suit.

The first day of a 4 day bank holiday weekend! Who’s making the most of that mortgage? You pay for it every month so you might as well enjoy it!

We’re looking forward to 4 days of bed rotting, movie marathons, pottering and face filling 😂🐣

Enjoy everyone 🐣💐

As we continue to see reports of increases in mortgage rates it’s so easy to get swept up in the hysteria. But let’s not forget where we have been in the past.

It’s easy to panic when you see a small increase but just look at how high the rates were pre-millennium. Did that stop your parents or even grandparents taking the step to owning their own home?

If you’re unsure about what you’re reading and seeing in the news/media, it’s worth speaking to a mortgage broker who will give you clear facts and figures. They’ll provide you with quotes using affordability to see how much you can borrow and how much you’ll repay, you maybe surprised to find out that regardless of the rate you can still do it!

We’ve had lots of people asking the same question- Why is the conflict in the Middle East affecting mortgage rates in the U.K?

Conflict in the Middle East can influence rates indirectly through several economic channels.

Higher oil prices make fuel, transport and goods more expensive pushing up inflation. Wars also increase global uncertainty and therefore disrupt financial markets.

UK mortgage rates are once again uncertain because markets suddenly think the Bank of England will keep interest rates higher for longer or even raise them. Therefore lenders are increasing rates as a precaution.

No one can predict the future, but it doesn’t mean putting your life on hold. We can only manage the risk, it doesn’t mean you can’t purchase that first house or move to a bigger property. You just measure each case based on affordability.

On a more optimistic view, this more recent economic shock will hopefully be over quicker than others we’ve suffered in the past. Until then we’ll just keep riding that wave 🌊 🏄‍♂️
