From today, Alkaline Hydrolysis, sometimes known as “water cremation”, becomes legally permitted in Scotland.

While facilities are not yet operational, this marks an important milestone in expanding end-of-life choices.

In our latest blog, we explain:
• What Alkaline Hydrolysis is
• How it is regulated
• Why this matters for equality and informed choice
• What families should realistically expect

At The Fuze Foundation, we believe compassion must include fairness and fairness includes access to clear, balanced information.

You can read the full blog here: https://fuzeceremonies.co.uk/humanist-ceremonies-blog/a-new-choice-in-scotland-understanding-alkaline-hydrolysis/

If you have questions about funeral options, our team is always here to listen.

“As a Humanist, I promise to do my best…”

I picked up this beauty of a camp badge today, and I love it.

I am proud to be a Beaver leader with , and proud to be a Humanist celebrant with

Humanism, for me, is about kindness, responsibility, community and doing your best with the one life you have.

Those values resonate deeply with me. They are why I volunteer as a Beaver Scout leader and why I love supporting young people as they grow in confidence and character.

And they are the same values I bring to the families I work with as a Humanist Celebrant with Fuze Ceremonies.

So proud to support the work of the Fuze Foundation.

☀️ Sunshine and close family ☀️

We held this ceremony at in Gullane. The guest list was small, just close family, and it created the most relaxed outdoor atmosphere. And yes, the weather absolutely showed up.

Ceremony planning always starts with a chat. If it feels like the right fit, we take it from there and build something personal together.

If you would like to see if we are the right people for each other, let’s have a chemistry chat.

📵 No BTS here.

You’ll rarely see me filming “behind the scenes” during a wedding.

Here’s why.

As a Humanist Celebrant with Fuze Ceremonies, my role on the day is to hold your ceremony, not document it.

When guests are arriving, I’m doing an acoustics check.
Making sure the wind isn’t stealing your vows.
Making sure everyone at the back can hear every word.

I’m speaking with your co-ordinator and photographer.
Checking your seating plan has been observed.
Checking your paperwork.
Calming nerves.
Fixing buttonholes.
Handing out tissues and glasses of water.

And as you can see from these shots, I’m not the best photographer, that’s why you’re paying someone else to do it. 😉

But more importantly, it’s not my day. It’s yours.

Your ceremony isn’t content.
It’s a once-in-a-lifetime moment.

So on the day, you have my full attention.

Because that’s what a great Humanist wedding ceremony deserves. ✨

As a Humanist Celebrant, I usually deal in aisles, vows and confetti.

This Valentine’s Day:

The aisle is shoogly.
The soundtrack is “how long left?” on repeat.
And instead of confetti, I’ll be brushing crisp crumbs off my coat.

I spend my working life celebrating big, intentional, stand-up-and-say-it love.

But love isn’t just found in ceremonies.

It’s in shared snacks.
In showing up.
In the ordinary days.

The weddings I create are about real love, not the staged version.

And today, this is mine.

It doesn’t really matter how you show love or who you’re spending today with.

However you’re doing it, partnered, parenting, solo, working or travelling, it counts.

It isn’t just about Valentine’s Day.
It’s about the ordinary days too.

Show up for your people.
Show up for yourself.

Be gentle with yourself.
Look for the joy in the small moments. That’s where love tends to live.

And if you’re planning a wedding that celebrates love in all its real, human, beautifully imperfect forms, I’d love to help you tell that story.

A day without laughter is a day wasted - Charlie Chaplin

Back in May, I had the absolute pleasure of officiating the Humanist wedding of J & B at the brilliant . There were happy tears, lots of laughter and so much love. Honestly, I think my cheeks still hurt from smiling so much that day!

Being in the middle of these two incredible humans as they tied the know was pure joy, and their gorgeous review afterwards was the cherry on top!

If you want to feel exactly like this on your wedding day - let's chat!
