Just what is 'Plevin'? How one woman's case could mean you are owed £1000s!

The Plevin PPI case started when Mrs Susan Plevin was sold a PPI policy to cover a secured loan in 2006.

She then claimed that the company she took the policy out with was treating her unfairly, due to two major reasons:

1) The percentage of commission they were earning from her PPI premiums each month.

2) The fact the company did NOT disclose the commissions to Mrs Plevin.

In November 2014, she took a claim to the Supreme Court and they ruled that failure by the lender to disclose the large commissions they received from her PPI premiums was the act of an unfair relationship between her and the lender

This meant that financial redress was awarded to Mrs Plevin, and set a major precedent for future PPI cases.

What is Plevin? And how could you make a claim?

We’ve all heard about PPI, but the new Plevin ruling isn’t as well-known… this could be because only a team of solicitors can process these types of claims (unlike PPI, where claims management companies could do it).

The new ruling centres on the unfair commission paid by customers on their PPI policies! This was something that was not taken into account previously.

Claims that were previously rejected, or that were submitted against banks and lenders without consideration of the amount of commission paid, could potentially all qualify under the new ruling!

Astonishingly, we’ve seen some banks take over 90% of the entire cost of the PPI premiums as commission!

So, even if you’ve already claimed PPI or had a claim rejected, you could still be entitled to money back, plus interest.
