Countdown to Easter (End)

MAGDALENE'S EXPERIENCE

The angel said to the women, “Don't be afraid! I know you are looking for Jesus, who was nailed to a cross. Matthew 28:5(CEV)

Mary Magdalene, a woman Jesus delivered from being possessed by seven demons. Luke 8:2, was a disciple of Jesus Christ. She considered herself helpless, worthless and useless without Jesus.

Her life was battered and shattered sometime ago but Jesus came and gave her a brand new life. Once a forgotten, rejected and dejected woman was brought to limelight through the magnanimity of Jesus Christ. She enjoyed sweet communion with Jesus. She felt so happy hanging around with Christ. She helped in sponsoring Christ ministry with all she had. She never complained of giving her all to Jesus. Life without Jesus for her was a nonsensical adventure.

All of a sudden, when she needed Jesus most, Jesus was killed by His enemies. She could have fought the Roman soldiers to keep Jesus alive but she did not have such power. She was at the scene of Christ's crucifixion, watched helplessly as her love was taking away from her.

After the burial of Jesus, she was determined to keep the body of Jesus from decaying. She believed that if she could see the lifeless body of Jesus her lover daily, she would just be okay. She took costly ointments to embalm the body of Jesus and was determined to do this every morning. I could imaging her helplessness as she cleanses the lifeless body of Jesus. What a hopeless moment of her life. She wondered what her life was going to look like in Christ absence.

That early Sunday morning her misery was tripled when she came near the tomb of Christ and found Him not. She cried bitterly that at least they would have left His body for her. She was contented with the lifeless body of Jesus Christ. She wept and kept enquiring about where they have carried His body to. An angel said to her " BE NOT AFRAID, I KNOW YOU ARE LOOKING FOR JESUS" YOUR LOVE IS RISING FROM THE DEAD.

AFTER A WHILE JESUS CALLED HER BY HER NAME "MARY, I AM ALIVE"
When she saw Jesus she grabbed his feet so tightly so that Jesus could not move. She could say in her heart "now that I have seen you I will not let you disappear from me again" JESUS ASSURED HER THAT HE HAS COME TO LIVE WITH HER, LIVE IN HER AND LIVE FOR HER FOREVER.

Are you living a life of hopelessness and helplessness? Rejoice today because your Redeemer is alive. The grave could not hold him. BECAUSE HE LIVES, YOU LIVE.

JESUS' EXPERIENCE

Then Joseph put the body in his own tomb that had been cut into solid rock and had never been used. He rolled a big stone against the entrance to the tomb and went away. Matthew 27:60(CEV)

The Jews had awaited the coming of their Messianic king who would come in his physical might to redeem Isreal from slavery. Unfortunately, Jesus' birth as the expected Messiah did not meet the description of the Jews type of expected King.

The Jews had expected a king that would come from a wealthy and influential person and a big town in Isreal. King Jesus came from Joseph, a common carpenter from Bethlehem.

The Jews had expected a king that would be born in the best hospital. King Jesus was born in a manger.

The Jews had expected a king that would live in a palace. King Jesus had no place to lay His head.

The Jews had expected a king that would wear a golden crown. King Jesus wore a crown of thorns.

IRONICALLY

While earthly kings were reserved a very special seat and served specially in the funerals of their subjects, King Jesus raised His subjects from the dead.

While earthly kings ostracized leprous persons from their territories, King Jesus healed the lepers.

While earthly kings drove demons possessed and mad people away from their territories, King Jesus delivered those who were demon posses.

A RIDICULED KING WITH GREAT EVIDENCE THAT NO KING COULD MATCH.

WHEN KING JESUS ENTERED THE GRAVE, THE GAME BECAME CLEARER TO SATAN BUT THEN IT WAS TOO LATE. THE VICTORY HAD ALREADY BEEN WON. SALVATION HAS BEEN BROUGHT TO THE JEWS THROUGH THIS SAME RIDICULED KING JESUS.

The kingship of Jesus is not physical or natural. The kingship of Jesus is supernatural and eternal. He reigns forever and ever. THIS KING JESUS IS LIVING IN YOU TODAY AND IN ALL THOSE THAT RECEIVE HIM.

MAKE KING JESUS YOUR FRIEND TODAY.

Countdown to Easter

GOLGOTHA EXPERIENCE

At noon the sky turned dark and stayed that way until three o'clock. Then about that time Jesus shouted, “Eli, Eli, lema sabachthani?” which means, “My God, my God, why have you deserted me?”. Matthew 27:45-46.

In our dealings with God, there comes a time when it seems that eternity has forsaken us, a time it seems that God has deserted us, a time when our prayers seem not to be answered and a time when it seems that God does not have interest in us. Such a time you cry and cry nothing happens. You fast and pray with no result. It is such a frustrating moment.

Jesus came to a point in His earthly assignment where as a man He needed the help of the Almighty. His enemies were taking their turns against Him. God did not do anything. Jesus was worried to realize that His father at that critical time could abandon Him.

The truth remains that GOD NEVER ABANDON HIS PEOPLE. There is a glory to be revealed in you. The game will finally turn for your favour. God has not finished with you.

Countdown to Easter

BARABBAS' EXPERIENCE

Pilate set Barabbas free. Then he ordered his soldiers to beat Jesus with a whip and nail him to a cross. Matthew 27:26 (CEV)

If there is anybody who could fit into the perfect description of Barabbas, I think I am the one. Once a condemned, degenerated, good for nothing, wayward, death bound and hopeless person of my type. JESUS TOOK MY PLACE AND DIED MY MERITED DEATH( The death that I have been adjudged worthy to taste).

What a saviour, what a lover, what a friend who could live His throne of glory, condescend to mere mortal, took on flesh, suffer shame and insult in the hands of those he created JUST BECAUSE HE WANTS TO SAVE ME (BARABBAS).

Rejoice today my fellow Barabbas(es), you have been set free. BUT DON'T FORGET "SOMEONE TOOK YOUR PLACE"

You should give Him your all. He deserves your worship, He deserves your praises. He deserves your honor. He deserves your adorations and Thanksgiving.
