rs and their properties. Our philosophy is therefore centred around strong onsite presence and close communication with all of our clients in order to form relationships with each of them. We achieve this by maintaining a select portfolio of properties, allowing us to dedicate the necessary time to provide a premium service. Taylor & Martin manage a range of services including communal, garden maintenance, buildings insurance, lift maintenance and fire protection services.

What a day! 🏰 🚌

Last Friday, the Taylor & Martin Property Management team came together in for our team away day bringing colleagues from across all our locations together for a day of doing something a little different.

Organised by our brilliant Social Committee, we kicked things off with a walking tour of Edinburgh, learning about the city’s history (don't mention Gardyloo) before heading underground into the vaults beneath South Bridge. Let’s just say… there were a few nervous faces down there!

Next up was a scavenger hunt, with teams taking on challenges around the National Museum of Scotland, while others headed out into the city to visit some of Edinburgh’s famous landmarks. And yes, some of us even got to meet one of the museum’s most famous residents: Dolly the Sheep! 🐑

Then came lunch at Bread Meats Bread and, naturally, it wouldn’t be a T&M day without a quiz!

After lunch it was on to our final stop at Flight Club Darts, where the competitive spirit came out for some social darts. 🎯

Creating an environment where our people can enjoy coming to work, feel connected to their colleagues and have opportunities to thrive matters to us and sometimes that means putting the laptops away and having a bit of fun together.

It’s also a big part of what we mean when we talk about our purpose of creating a better place to live and a better place to work.

A huge thank you to our Social Committee for organising such a brilliant day, and to everyone who came along and made it such a good one.

The Taylor & Martin team keeps getting bigger and better and we can't wait for the next one! 🏆

A rare chance to step inside Anchor Mill 👀

We’re proud to manage Anchor Mill, one of Paisley’s most iconic buildings, which is taking part in this year’s Doors Open Day on Saturday 5 September.

The building isn’t normally open to the public, so this is a great opportunity for anyone who has ever wondered what’s behind the doors to come along, have a look around and speak to some of the residents.

There will also be someone who used to work at the mill there on the day, sharing their memories and giving visitors a little insight into the history of this much loved Paisley landmark.

📍 New Appointment – Lindsayfield, East Kilbride 📍

We’re pleased to announce that the homeowners at Lindsayfield in East Kilbride have chosen Taylor & Martin as their new Property Factor.

With around 525 homes, Lindsayfield is a substantial residential development and an important new appointment for our team.

We already manage a number of developments across East Kilbride, so we know the area well and have an established network of local, trusted contractors. This local knowledge, alongside our team’s proximity to the development, means we can provide a responsive and hands-on service.

For homeowners, this means having one clear point of contact for their factoring needs, backed by a team that takes a personal approach to property management. We’ll work closely with the homeowners to ensure the shared areas are well maintained and the development continues to be a well looked after place to live.

We manage a wide range of residential developments across Scotland, and while every development is different, our purpose remains the same: creating better places to live.

With August focusing on the connection between physical activity and mental health, it feels like the perfect time to share what our team has signed up for.

This October, we’ll be taking on the Great Scottish Run in Glasgow, with colleagues tackling either the 10K or Half Marathon.

There’ll be plenty of training, a few nerves and hopefully a lot of encouragement along the way. Most importantly, we’ll be doing it together to raise money as part of our ongoing support for our charity partner, SAMH

We’re looking forward to getting active, challenging ourselves and raising as much as we can for SAMH.

Shared Spaces Spotlight | The Exchange, Highburgh Road, Glasgow

Our latest Shared Spaces Spotlight takes us to The Exchange on Highburgh Road in Glasgow's West End, where the building's remarkable history is evident from the moment you step inside.

Originally constructed in 1907 as the former Western Telephone Exchange, this Grade B Listed Georgian style building was designed by architects Leonard Stokes and Colin Menzies before being carefully transformed into the luxury apartments it is today.

The shared entrance offers a fitting introduction to the building's character, with elegant timber panelled walls and period detailing creating a real sense of arrival. As you continue through the building, generous stairwell windows fill the communal spaces with natural light, while the striking black and white chequered flooring on the landings adds another layer of timeless character and craftsmanship.

Developments like The Exchange are a reminder that shared spaces are so much more than corridors and stairwells. They are part of the experience of coming home, and they play an important role in preserving the identity of a building.

These are some of our favourite developments to look after. Caring for historic buildings means helping to protect the features that make them unique while ensuring the communal areas remain welcoming, well maintained and enjoyed by residents every day. It's a responsibility we're proud to take on, and one that helps these remarkable buildings continue to be appreciated for generations to come.

As a proud supporter of SAMH we’re joining them this August to highlight the important connection between physical activity and mental health.

Being active can be good for our mental wellbeing, but finding the time or motivation to get moving isn’t always easy.

That’s why we’re sharing a few simple ideas from SAMH that could help you build a little more movement into your day:

📍 New Appointment – Union Grove, Aberdeen 📍

We’re pleased to have been appointed as at Union Grove, an established tenement development in Aberdeen.

Previously self-factored, the homeowners have chosen Taylor & Martin to take on the management of their development, putting their trust in our team to provide a personal and professional factoring service.

For us, appointments like this are about more than managing the practical side of a development. It’s about building a good relationship with the homeowners, understanding what matters to them and being a reliable point of contact when they need us.

Union Grove is also a welcome addition to our Aberdeen portfolio, as we continue to build our presence in the area following the opening of our dedicated office there earlier this year.
