As we reflect on the news that The Body Shop at Home is closing in February, we are left with an overwhelming sense of gratitude and admiration for the consultants who have supported our work. So, we wanted to send you all a message.

Our remarkable journey together stretches back for 30 years, raising an incredible £3.6 million for Children on the Edge, reaching some of the most marginalised children around the world, and helping them flourish and thrive.

You have been part of incredible transformation for children in so many countries and communities. You’ve helped to change national laws, enabled rapid response in the most pressing humanitarian crises and, year on year, faithfully worked to help children in the toughest situations to safely live, play, learn and grow.

It’s been the most amazing journey and we can never thank you enough. It goes without saying that you remain warmly welcome in our vital community of supporters and we’d love you to join us for the next chapter of Children on the Edge.

Our Learning Centres in India have been making great progress. The 31 centres, in and around Patna, offer supplementary education and support for over 1,000 Dalit children.

Dalit children face many barriers to education, families cannot afford to send their children to school and they often struggle to access government schools; where they can face discrimination from their peers as well as teachers. As a result, they find it hard to keep up with their studies.

The Learning Centres help children catch up and continue their education so that eventually they can integrate back into mainstream school. In the last few months we were thrilled to learn that 77 students have graduated and have been admitted to various schools in the area.

In two communities - Stalin Nagar and Banskothi, the Learning Centres have been so successful, that all of their students have now joined mainstream schools. As government school provision for younger children in these communities has now improved, our centres will be relocated to other areas where the need is greater.
