We’re delighted to announce significant improvements to our Fortegra Shop proposition.

A new role for Paul Ingleby

We’re delighted to announce that Paul Ingleby has taken on a new role as Senior Business Development Underwriter at Commercial Express.

This is a really positive step for CE as we strengthen our focus on supporting larger premium business and offering our broker partners a more bespoke service.

Paul will be working closely with both our Key Account Managers, and directly with our broker partners, to establish and discuss new and existing opportunities and requirements, for both residential property portfolios and larger property renewals.

With many years of industry and underwriting experience, Paul is ideally placed to provide the insight, flexibility and personal service needed for more complex and bespoke risks.

We’re excited to see Paul take on this role and look forward to developing even closer relationships with our broker partners.

Five Years. Five Consecutive Titles.

What an incredible achievement for our charity partner, The Birmingham Adult Transplant Sport Team.

We’re delighted to share that the team has successfully retained the Ross Taylor Transplant Sport Trophy for an incredible five consecutive years, achieving something no other team has managed in the history of the British Transplant Games.

It’s a fantastic recognition of the dedication, determination and resilience of everyone involved. More importantly, the team continues to use its success to raise awareness of the life-changing impact of organ donation and the incredible opportunities it can provide after transplantation.

We’re incredibly proud to have supported the team on this journey and to have played a small part in helping them promote such an important cause.

The Insurance Charity has launched a new School Essentials Grants programme, helping current and former insurance professionals across the UK, Ireland and the Channel Islands who are receiving means-tested benefits with the cost of their children's education.

The grants are designed to help families prepare for the new school year, with support available for:

School clothing and footwear
School equipment
School activities
School trips

Eligible families can receive £250 per school-age child in the UK or €300 per child in Ireland, with support available for children attending primary school, secondary school, sixth form or further education college.

Unlike the Charity's standard financial grants, applicants do not need to have experienced a significant life event, such as redundancy, to be eligible. Whether you're applying for the first time or have previously received support from The Insurance Charity, you may still qualify. Families with more than one child can submit a single application covering all eligible children.

🏃‍♂️ A marathon challenge with a truly special meaning

As proud sponsors of the Birmingham Adult Transplant Sport Team, we’re delighted to share the incredible story of their team member, Jon Bailey, who has been accepted to run his first-ever London Marathon on Sunday, 25th April 2027.

This challenge is about so much more than 26.2 miles.

In October 2021, Jon received the life-changing gift of a liver transplant at Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham. Since then, he has gone on to achieve incredible things, completing 10k races and half marathons, while continuing to represent the transplant community through his passion for football with the Birmingham Adult Transplant Sport Team, Birmingham Transplant Football Club, and the England Transplant Football Team.

Now, Jon is taking on his biggest challenge yet and hopes to raise £3,000 for Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham Charity, supporting the outstanding work of the Edmonds Transplant Centre, a state-of-the-art centre of excellence within the Heritage Building at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital.

Jon is looking for sponsors, particularly businesses in and around Wolverhampton, who would like to support this incredible journey. He is passionate about recognising the support of his sponsors and will proudly showcase their generosity throughout his marathon journey, including displaying logos on his running shirt and carrying sponsor flags as he crosses the finish line.

It’s a fantastic opportunity to support a remarkable cause while helping Jon share a message of hope, determination and the incredible impact of organ donation.

This August, our charity partner, The Birmingham Adult Transplant Sport Team, will be heading to Sheffield to compete in the Westfield Health British Transplant Games.

The team is taking an impressive 46 competitors, including several athletes making their Games debut. Every competitor has an incredible story to tell, demonstrating not only the life-changing impact of organ donation, but also what can be achieved through determination, resilience, and the power of sport after transplantation.

A special mention goes to the Birmingham Adults Football A Team, who will be looking to secure their third consecutive title, while returning athletes such as Kristian Marsh and newly transitioned adult competitor Kristof Polgar will also be aiming for success across a range of events.

While medals are always exciting, the true victory lies in raising awareness of the life-saving impact of organ donation. Every athlete competing has already overcome one of life's greatest challenges, making them champions before the Games even begin.

We'd like to wish every member of the Birmingham Adult Transplant Sport Team the very best of luck. We'll be cheering you on every step of the way!
